Default HOw to tell if receiver is bad?

I dont know how to tell on my pos hsp flying fish if the receiver or the servo is not working. The car responds to the throttle, but no response to turining?
the thing is almost new. Ihave tried hooking unhooking leads, holding throttle when Iturn car on to reset. There is not a reset switch on the esc...Any ideas please?

Since you know for sure the throttle channe on the receiver works just plug the steering servo into the throttle channel and see what happens. If the servo still doesn't work then it's a bad servo, if the servo works then it's a bad receiver.

ok.. SO right now there are 3 ports on the receiver channel 1 chann 2 and battery
the servo connects into the battery port...so would Iplug the servo into the channel port that Iam using for throttle?
and this may sound stupid, but will I just pull the throttle? or turn the wheel
thankyou!!

Your servo should not be plugged into the battery port...

It should be plugged into one of the channel ports, the one that the throttle (esc) is not plugged into.

The battery port is for a separate battery when you're running nitro which you don't need because the car is an electric.

because the ESC has a BEC which gives the reciever its power so you will need to use a reciever battery to test it.
