Losi xxxt or Redcat caldera
I have both trucks but the ESC on the losi isn't any good I don't believe I am thinking about taking the hobby wing wp sc8 ESC out of the caldera and a sidewinder 3 motor and putting it on the losi ....I like the caldera but with 3s it pulls me all over the place also the diff's are starting to go out which could explain the steering....I want to focus my limited money and time into one truck for bashing on pavement and dirt and some gravel
I haven't drove the losi at all and haven't had one since 2005 ish I was too young to remember much lol

I would really appreciate any input on preferences parts availability and pros and cons

Let the XXXT rip dude! 99% of the trucks parts are still available for purchase AFAIK. I'm sure you are aware of the performance differences between your two platforms. I am a bit of a stadium truck fan. Probably one of my favorite, if not the favorite, platforms to drive. A light, nimble 2wd truck, with the right tires is loads of fun.
Keeping up with the maintenance of multiple RC is a bit of a challenge sometimes, especially when the funds are tight. I'd have fun with the XXXT while looking into what it would take to get the Caldera up to par again.
