RE: 1/10th ep gearing
I will try it on the xb10 2morrow. I believe they are the same. Just looking at it I believe it will work.
Not sure because of the mount ?
I would use the steel gear if I was you actually. would just about make the mt10 bullet proof. i thought you had the older model ep truck/car.

RE: 1/10th ep gearing
Yeah i have the mt10. The gear cover was one of the reasons i got it actually, had a problem with gravel getting into my spur on another rc.
I wanted to change the spur so i could run the 5mm shaft brushless motors since it's really hard to find 5mm bore pinions that are 0.6 mod(48p metric)
Think it might work with a smaller spur than the one you used?

Its going to be tough without losing the guard. What kv motor you using ?
Here isa link to a pretty handy tool. I use it all the time. has not failed me yet. It uses 48p gears and metric wont matter.

Your good, It uses a 3.17 mm shaft.
So you can still use 48m pitch and get the ration your going to need.
Just pick you up a 19t pinion and you will have a gear ratio of 9.17 that will make you plenty fast and keep everything cool.

Yeah i settled for the smaller shaft after i couldnt find 5mm bore pinions. The smallest pinion i have right now is a 20T. I hope it doesnt run too hot.

Try this link for .8 5mm bore gears as this guy makes custom ones:

RE: 1/10th ep gearing
Which spur did you use with the tb03 adapter?
The ezrun 8.5T 4000kv with the 20T pinion and stock tires was running hot with extreme cogging.
So i went down to a 19T pinion and smaller wheels (hpi yokohama geolanders) and that took care of the heat, there is still some slight cogging but i'm guessing that's normal for sensorless.
I'm thinking about trying a lower kv motor with 3s lipo but the motors i'm interested in have 5mm shafts so i might try the tb03 adaptor to increase gearing options.

Maybe a smaller spur will fit without losing the cover?
Also when you tested it on the xb10 was any shimming needed?

Hello,
(I hope you'll understand my 'english' from France )
I'am really interesting in your assembly with the 'Spur Gear Adaptor TB03-14' .
Please could you explain a litle more, wih more pics
What make is the spur with the tooth ? Is it 'standard' ?
Do you think it fit in an Himoto H12101 ?
Rgds.

I now have a robinson racing 75t 48p gear in there. Works great.
