what to use for jumps?
i have an empty grass lot across the street from my house that is for sale and want to build a little car track to mess around on. I am going to leave it grass but just cut it real close to the ground with the lawn mower, but what is a good material on grass to use for jumps?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Only comment I have, is that if you make a portable plywood jump, make sure the leading edge extends out far enough so that the vehicle is entirely on top of it before the ramp part starts. Otherwise, the force of the front wheels can tip the ramp and the leading edge can jam between the underside of the chassis and the back wheels.
Oh....another comment....make it as wide as you can. It's easy to hit a ramp with only two wheels and a barrel roll results.

I'm thinking the grass wont last long being short with the sun and you tearing over it..lol
But I would build jumps from wood. I always just add a leg to the back so when you hit it they don't move.

For lighter trucks (1/10th scale and under) I use coroplast with pleanty of vertical support (a support cross-section every 1 foot or so). For heavier trucks I use wood for the supports and ABS plastic for the ramp.
