RE: SC truck?
It's based on the actual Short-Course trucks driven by the famous Ivan "Iron Man" Stewart. To be exact:
Official Definition: Off-Road racing began in the early '70's and became mainstream in 2006. All racing occurs on a short track designed to bring dirt, fun and excitement to the front stage. There are currently 7 categories that are recognized by the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series that are as follows:
Unlimited 4 full-size 4WD race vehicles, V8 engines, 800+ Horse Power
Unlimited 2 full-size 2WD race vehicles, V8 engines, 800+ Horse Power
Unlimited Lite compact/mid-szied 2WD race vehicles, 4 cylinder engines 300 Horse Power
Super Lite mid-size 2WD, two seat, 200 Horse Power, spec class
Unlimited Buggy 1650 cc water-cooled 4 cylinder and VW Type 1 engine
Limited Buggy 1600 cc VW Type 1 engine
Kart single seat, custom-built mini race trucks, drivers 8-15 years old
UPDATED: 4/17/2009 - UTV Classes added to the Lucas Series!
Unlimited UTV heavily modified UTV up to 800 cc in displacement
Limited UTV limited class utilizing stock unmodified UTV frame and bolt on aftermarket parts.
Modified UTV developmental modified class utilizing up to 1000 cc displacement.
Scale that down to RC and voila! we have our own SC trucks.

What makes a RC car a SC truck?
Well, Scale looking Short Course truck body that resembles the real short course truck. Then you have scale tires and obviously they have to be under the body.
It's all about scale looking. What's under the body does not matter.

Not all RC's would technically be "short course vehicles." It's all about scale realism. 1/10 buggies don't really look like the real deal. You could make one, but nobody is really cares if their buggies look real or not, so they aren't very popular.

RE: SC truck?
They do kind of. The Baja 5b's resemble the dune rollers they race in those events. They are 1/5th though.

RE: SC truck?
to convert a statium truck to a short course you put a sc body and tuck the wheels pretty much thats is what I am asking. I just found out the blitz body fits over the 1/8 raze with wheels tucked correctly, since I am converting my raze to brushless I guess I will go with a blitz body

10th scale buggies aren't popular? They have been around since they 80's, 30 years of racing. SC trucks are a fad that will die out within a few years... but people will still be racing 10th scale buggies.
