RE: Where is the Traxxas factory?

The 'factory' is in Plano TX, I have driven past it. They do final assembly, and the production of some parts there. The cars are not entirely made over in Taiwan, only the injection molding and some stamped metal parts. The engines are also machined and assembled at the Plano plant, after the blocks and heads are cast somewhere else.
Unfortunately its easier and cheaper to have someone overseas to make parts for us. But then prices get jacked up and we pay out the ass for something that costs half as much to produce.
That's how money is made. The more, the better.

    The beauty of free market.
Well according to Obama during his State of the Union Address, we will have more jobs for americans and something to do with china and manufactured goods. But i wont get anymore involved cause thats politics and its not allowed. but i know you know that proanti.

Too bad they don't do plant tours. Probable cause some of their stuff might be "secret". Id drive down from new york to tour it. I have wanted to suggest to that show "How It's Made" to see how parts are made (mostly nitro) and then assembly process.

Go and suggest it cummins. Then post the link here and we can all send in a suggestion. If they get enough requests, some studio exec might take notice and send the crew down there for a taping.

Well... it's a production facility. You would probably see a bunch of people sitting around assembling cars. Having worked in various production facilities, I cant imagine it would be all that interesting.

I think you can make suggestions on the Discovery website. I'm sure How It's Made would contact Traxxas if enough people were to bug them.

well the nitro engines would be more interesting to watch manufacture than the car itself. i know how they all go together so... idk just a thought. ill hit 'em up lol

RE: Where is the Traxxas factory?

The factory is in Taichung. I don't know where exactly but I would guess that it's in the Industrial Park on the southwest side. I would not expect to see a Traxxas logo anywhere - I don't think Traxxas owns the factory.

RE: Where is the Traxxas factory?

Per a Traxxas employee on their website all parts are manufactured and the models are assembled un Taiwan, which fits with the above post. Only r&d and customer service happen at the hq in Texas.

That's not true. According to Nitro Chicken of Traxxas they are designed in Texas, but they are manufactured and assembled in Taiwan.

    ORIGINAL: Nitro Chicken

All our vehicles and parts are manufacured and assembled in Taiwan. All our R&D and customer support is done at Traxxas HQ in Texas.

Edit: Sorry originally I said it was Peter Vierra but it was Nitro Chicken.

Edit 2: Nevermind, Peter Vierra said to too.
