Latest addition to the stable - The XT8 is up and running (pics)...
First of all, I must do a shout to Mike at RC Monster for answering all my questions about his XT8 conversion quickly and generally being a decent guy. I also owe him an apology. You can see pictured below, my XT8 with a TeamC Slipperential center diff. For those of you that don't know what that is, I suggest you go read up about it on RC Monster. Suffice it to say that the 'Slipperential' is Mike of RC Monster's patented original design and has been blatantly stolen and copied by TeamC. I did not order or request this part, it came my way in a job lot of odds and ends I got in a trade, but it was new in packaging and after tinkering with it and setting it up properly according to Mike's instructions, it actually works pretty nice, so I threw it in. Mike, I promise the next one will be one of yours. [8D] Don't buy fakes kids, every time you do, Mike drowns a whole bag of puppies, buy the real thing.
Anyway, as you can see, it's a nice conversion, easy install and very clean and tidy result...these are just a few quick initial pics, I'll take some more when the alloy hingepin holders arrive and I've painted a new body. http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/t...ullcarshot.jpg http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/t...ullchassis.jpg http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/t...pfromfront.jpg http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/t...loseuptork.jpg http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/t.../wideangle.jpg |

That looks nice. That is a MM combo in there, right? How are you liking those Protek packs? They look nice but never used one.

RE: Latest addition to the stable - The XT8 is up and running (pics)...
To be honest, the protek packs are in there cos they photograph well, this is geared for 6S. However, yeh, they are very good, no complaints when I've used em. Yeh, it's an MMM combo with the Castle version ESC and the HPI version motor, again purely for aesthetics really. RCgears says it'll do just over 55 on 6S with a 13t, which is fine, it should be brutal down low.

Unfortunately for me I did buy one for my 801XT a while back before I realized it was a stolen design. I got a email from a friend about a certain website so I took a look and saw it so I took the plunge. But it does work well, wont buy another one from that site.
If your reading this, Sorry Mike, I had this for a long time before I found out it was stolen[&o]........ |

Foxy, How didi you secured the battery tray? I bought the tray for the MVX6t and think it's being a pain to install. Also the steering servo, how did you get it upright? other than that I love Mike's setup

Nice one... Hey that's got the same layout as the Tekno v4 chassis for the lsi 8ight... Oh I wish I had the coin to finish my buggy....
Does mikes Slipperential have wider teeth than that one? By the looks there is not much meat on the teeth on that one. |

Standard steel spur thickness, same as nitros. Looks thin cos the car is big compared to a buggy. The Delrin spurs which are available for the slipperential are much fatter and quieter.

Yamil, Mike's kit is complete for the Xray, the battery tray fits to the chassis with its own screw holes. The radio tray is also included in the conversion. What kind of problems are you having?
