Mamba Monster System into traxxas slash 4x4
 

Ok so I have recently decided to get my son a mamba monster system to put into his traxxas slash 4x4 1/10th. All Iam really wondering upon is what will be needed to do so? What I mean is, what parts will probably need to be replaced because of the power that the mamba will produce? Everything on the entire truck is completely stock. Should I replace my spur gear with an aluminum one?
I would just love to know what problems that Imay come in contact with in the near future. The mamba sure does pack a punch and Iam fully aware of that! Therefore I am conducting multiple posts upon r/c websites to determine what needs to be done in advanced to prevent issues in the near future. Iwould love to hear all opinions voiced! Now unless there is another electric speed control and motor out there that Ihave not heard about. Which is better than themamba then please tell me as long as it stays within the range of 300$. Please and thank you!

you can upgrade parts but it will only hold off the issues for a while.

unless youre going to put a 1/8th scale motor in the slash, the monster will not be any more powerful than the max. spend your money on a 1415 and some decent 4 cell batteries.

As savagecommander said. An ESC swap in and of itself, will not make a truck slower or faster without changes to motor, batteries and gearing.

In the case of the mamba monster into a slash, I can only assume you have decided to do this (most would consider that ESC MASSIVE overkill in that truck), in order to allow you to run 4, 5, or 6 cell batteries, and/or change the motor to one that can handle the kind of power that the Monster can put out.

Suffice it to say that if you do put a 1/8th motor in that truck on 4S, the power will tear the truck to pieces in short order, there is nothing you can do to prevent that, it is like putting a semi truck engine into a VW Rabbit, you will need to buy a 100 box of slipper clutches, or get rid of the slipper altogether, in which case you'll need a 100 box of spur gears. :)

A much better combination for that truck would be the Castle 1410 (or 1415) with a Mamba Monster Pro controller. This combination will provide more power than you could ever effectively use in that truck (when used with 3S lipos).

Sc8 speedo and mamba motor ...I was using a sc8 esc with a 2700kv ez run (comparable to mamba 2650) ... With stock gearing was geting about 45mph an a ton of torque on 3s lipo ... With my slipper set a little on the loose side there wasnt any problems just had to finesses a bit,but to tight on he slipper and you'll twist the drive shafts in no time.....

Sooooo id just upgrade to metal cvds right from the start
