time to upgrade radio system question
I have a airtronics mx3 fm radio 72 mhz channel 69. I have 4 cars running off of this radio right now. I want to get one more car but my problem is is that the recievers for my radio are pretty much non-existent. i know i had trouble finind my last reciever about 2 years ago.
i want to upgrade to a synthesized radio system. my question is i want to use one radio for my cars. with a synthesized radio, would i need to swap out all my recievers, or can i just pick the same channel on the new radio?
im not too familiar with radio systems. i just know the generalities of them but not specifics like this.

RE: time to upgrade radio system question
Well this is testing my memory.
why 72mhz....???? thats generally used for planes right?
gut generally most recivers and transmitters are compatable.
The problem is not all crystals are combatable....
Just buy any reciver and each time u want to use a diffrent car swap over the crystal....
For examle just today.... i got a very old tamiay touring car last week & ive been using it heaps and the TX batteries went flat. So rather than swapping out the batteries. i just swaped the crystal with my Losi micro SCT controller...
the old tamiya has a futaba RX and came with a futaba TX missing the battery door. from day one i swaped out the crystal with a HPI controller. when that went flat i went to a Losi controller....
For 4 of my other cars im running the Traxxas link 2.4ghz...only 5ch pistol grip controller i know off appart from the all new Traxxas TQi
