New update for the TQi at iTunes
now u can select metric units!!! Wooooo about time
Here is the optional battery Pack for the controller
PN#3037
Warning, Dont use the existing AA battery holder on anything apart from the controller.
It has a yellow plug and is wired different to a standard battery pack, the negitave lead is where the signal wire normally is.
They have done this so u cant accidentally plug the hump pack charger in and charge the AA battery pack. Safety feature

RE: Traxxas TQi and Telemetry Support
So is there anything in the crimp on the temp sensor to affect the voltage from the power tap?, or is it just a way to use one plug? I'm gathering parts to convert my 2wd Slash and the temp sensor seems a bit hard to locate right now so I'm hoping I can just patch a wire from my + battery lead into the appropriate RX pin? Also...Traxxas tells me for this application no magnet is necessary and the rpm trigger reads off the spur gear, but thats really hard to believe. I'm assuming I need the spur adaptor and magnet even though the Traxxas page does not show it as necessary and they say it isnt? Basically grabbing parts as my LHS has them...Honestly battery voltage and RPM are about all I want....I figure the motor will start smoking when.... Has anyone wired the power tap directly without the temp sensor? Yeah, I know its like $12...But 12$ is 12$...besides shipping at this point. Todd

RE: Traxxas TQi and Telemetry Support
Hey bud, the temp and volt sensor just share the same plug, 2 for the temp and 1 for power. For the $12 it's worth it, u can use the temp sensor to monitor the ESC, battery or motor. The temp sensor is very easy to fit, there is even a holder for electric motors.
Some guys have wired up the volt sensor them self
I recomend using the temp sensor tho, each time u overheat ur motor it looses power, that happens before the magic smoke
Yes it uses a magnat, I've listed all the parts u will need above under...

They all use TRA6523/6521 depending on the chassis. There is a picture of them on the third post. One connector for the temp and another for the voltage that plugs into one of the servo ports. I usually use one of the two CH1 ports cause I don't run dual steering servos. On vehicles that I use all five channels I cut the connector off and solder the wire to one of the other connectors. One of the ports is always going to be used for the battery.

Mounting telemetery expander box on 4x4 Slash with OBA
I'm assuming telemetry expander box mounting kit Part #6555 is required to mount the telemetry expander box on the Slash 4x4 with OBA because there is no obvious place to mount the box without it. I asked a Traxxas support person this question last night and he said the expansion box mounting kit is not needed, but perhaps there was a misunderstanding.
Where exactly on the chassis is this box and mounting kit located? Any photos? I didn't see any instructions on the Traxxas web site or with the mounting kit, which I have just now ordered. Thanks.
