Default Need advice on radio equipment

Hey everyone I just bought a ofna x1 crt truggy to start a project on. I have a futaba and an AE servo that came with the car that I will use until it needs replacing I need all the other electronics though battery reciever and remote this is my first project and I'm still pretty new to the hobby so bare with me please. I was looking at traxxas stuff to use because I'm not a racer I play in the yard and occasionally go to the track so I don't need anything fancy or expensive so is the traxxas stuff the way to go? I appreciate your suggestions and comments a link to a complete set up I can buy would be awesome here is the link to the stuff I'm currently looking at to buy. Thanks again

that one u linked no...

U really want to find a 2.4ghz controller they can be as cheap as $30, but id recommend looking into a FS GT3c they are $58 including postage... its a little fancy for what u want. but for the price u cant go wrong. u could get something less fancy but its not going to be any cheaper and wont have all the needed adjustments

Later on if u ever get another car, the receivers are $8

Personally I would steer clear from Traxxas stuff unless u get a great deal on something second hand. like a TQ 2.4ghz for $20 or something...even then they are a pain to set the steering endpoints....The only Traxxas controller ive found easy to set up is a TQi with a ipod docked... but that gets expensive

I was looking at that one my self. Do you know how well the reception is on it and what the range is like?

How much range do you need? Usually these things have enough range that you can no longer drive the car cuz you can't SEE it.

I love my GT3C.

Sounds like you may have a receiver problem. I had a similar problem, noticed that my range was kinda short. Not long after, the receiver gave out entirely.
