Default Tyco RC Radio Mod Questions

I picked up a [link=http://www.kbtoys.com/genProduct.html/PID/4715405/ctid/17?cpncode=09-16615876-2&srccode=cii_10043468]Tyco FTX Fury[/link] on e-bay for 15 bucks, just to mess around with. I was wondering if it would be possible to change the radio out in it to give it better distance (being a cheapo car, it only goes about 150ft before giving out).

Is this possible, or am I crazy?

Default RE: Tyco RC Radio Mod Questions

You bet it's possible. All you got to do is replace the original circut board with a hobby quality reciever (and radio too, of course). I did that once with a little Tyco Mustang. You're going to need some sort of motor controller too. I got cheap on the one I moded, and just rigged up a manual speed controller on it. Depending how much control you want (and how much you want to spend) on your's, you could even just put a servo connected to an on/off switch.
Good luck with the conversion.
