Default Help with a Novak

I'm building an electric sprint car, and have nothing but problems trying to figure out how to get the ESC to program.
It's a Novak Explorer 2.
I've got the factory sheet on how to program it, but it doesn't want to co-operate.
As soon as I power it on (TX already on), it goes to solid red on the LED.
Ive tried just doing the throttle set, and it never goes to green.
I've pressed in the one-touch, and sometime it will go off, and then come back to solid red, try the throttle set, and nothing.
Once during one of the many tries, during a throttle set, it did go to green, and the motor went full speed for a couple of seconds, then off.
It's a brand new Trinity motor, batteries full charged, but nothng seems to want to program, or work.

HELP (now I know why I like nitro).

Thanks for all of the input, but this mystery has been solved.
It was a problem with the TX.
My LHS did the troubleshooting, and it's up and running <yippiee!>
