RE: Atlast! Ice driving part II
the movie doesnt suck, just not excellent quality. I need to get an account with a host that will allow for a larger file size.
edit: ok, so I just watched it and the quality does suck. but any feedback on what you liked aboutt he actualy video would help for further stuff. Ive got a week ahead of me to make something. Im gonna re-save to higher quality tomorrow night when I get to my home computer. But wow! I was suprised at how quick the movie loads right now. (zeek im at my dads right now and his lake would have been close to perfect to drive on, but I elft my car at home[])

RE: Atlast! Ice driving part II
the actual quality of the video was very good (even in the movie editor) , but in the process of saving in medium quality and uploading the quality went bad.

RE: Atlast! Ice driving part II
What are you using to capture the video?,,
you need to capture in the highest resolution posible (big hard drive?)
then after to edit, you can reduce the size to get a decent result without an overly large file size
I use a Sony 8 myself and pinacle capture devise and ,,works pretty well

RE: Atlast! Ice driving part II
what do you use to reduce the file size? I guess maybe my problem initialy is rendering to mpeg 1 pal instead of higher dvd quality mpeg, and then later I convert to WMV.
We've been using a dazzle RCA interface that works well to record onto the computer, then I do the cutting and effects in the dazzle program. After the cutting and effects, I rendered it to avi-ddint work for this video, so i did it to mpeg 1pal, which was like the lowest quality mpeg on there, so maybe this time I'll render to mpeg (ncst?-sp) for a dvd quality. AFter I render it I put the rendered file into windows movie maker so I can put songs in, and save it to WMV. Thats the last file I use to upload. Im just afraid that the high quality would produce a file size to large to upload. One other thing is that the other videos I watched on putfile were also quite crappy, so Im wondering if a lot of the crappy quality is from that site and uploading to that site.

Try this
Capture it in as high a resolution you have room for, the after you edit it save it in wmv Widows media video/audio @ 256kbps
it works for me, That's about as good as I think I can get using a non Digital camera
then upload it to rcpic.net and you'll get this kind of result
you be the judge

In the future, try going to the other side of the lake so that that glare won't be as bad and so that you will be able to better make out the details.....such as the car..

because it was an extended version ( ice drive is in this forum somewhere) of ice drive, if you see ice drive youll see that it was the beginning to this video.
