Tamiya FineSpec + Unidentified Buggy
I haveone yellow (as pictured), one green - each with their own radio, bothexcellent operating condition.
Need help identifying, and to knowrealistic value.
My youngest son wants a r/c vehicle of his own, and while these work - rumble tough they are not. Figured a Tamiya follower would find these of interest.
I have another post asking what entry level cars/trucks might be considered.

looks like a tamiya fighter buggy, but the shocks are a strange shade of grey. the fighter had blue shocks.
edit:
it's a tamiya rookie rabbit, same as the fighter but the rookie came out first.

it's not worth much really, it's not old enough to be considered vintage and not very collectable to even the most diehard tamiya fans.
but it is worth getting running, these are smile makers lol. they bounce all over and are a hoot to drive.
if you sell it i'd wager you'd get about 40-50 bux for it on a good day in ready to run condition.
20 bux if it doesn't run.

The two that I have run fine, no problems. I have an eager young man wanting to drive a r/c buggie, he is 7 years of age. Now knowing these aren't worth much, he can start with these.
What battery pack would you recommend?
Would you invest in brushless, if a drop in motor could be found?

thats the best thing for the car, a kid.
you could go brushless, but it will be alot faster and flip over alot. that suspension is very limited.
i suggest a pair of new tamiya sport tuned motors. they are a little faster then stock and last a long time.
if you really want to try brushless go for an ezrun 35amp, 13t combo. it's pretty mild, but faster then stock.
the popular 9t ezrun is just too fast for that car, it would be like a rocket.
"what batt would i recommend?", that depends on what kind of charger you have, and what motor system you end up going with.
if you need a charge then you might as well use lipo batteries, but if you already have a charger a decent 6cell nimh batt will be fine.
first thing you need to do is take it all apart and install bearings.
