HPI Super F1
Hey everyone. I'm a shameless HPI fanboy, and I recently had the chance to buy the first car HPI every made: the Super F1. For a very fair price, I received enough parts to build two full cars (one with all-new parts) and the better part of a third. Along with the car I received a ton of NIP parts, and I think about 12 sets of tires and/or wheels. Even got the manual!
The build-up of the new parts chassis is on hold while I wait for the correct bolts to come in. I also ordered a couple of spur gears, but (surprise!) those are on order. They're supposed to come in stock soon, I'll keep my fingers crossed. The one with all-new parts is going to be a shelf queen. As much as I hate people who build their cars and sit them on their shelves, I feel as though I'm justified because (1) this thing is ancient, and (2) I will be running the second one.
Anyone, on to pictures.
Any other Super owners out there?!

RE: HPI Super F1
Just posting a little update. I got the first car finished and put together with my 200mm McLaren body. Hopefully I'll be able to run it this weekend.
The other car is coming along, but slowly I've had to order some parts to finish it off. All that I need now is some parts for the rear axle, and bearings for the front wheels.
When it's finished, I'll take some photos alongside my HPI F10 and we'll be able to see how far HPI has come in ~20 years...

RE: HPI Super F1
You mean the car, or the actual wheels?
I'm waiting on parts to ship before I can get a proper rebuild. The least exciting part of RC...

RE: HPI Super F1
I was planning on doing an F-10 vs. Super F1 photoshoot in a while when I received the parts to finish the shelfer F1, but I'm trading the F-10 away soon so I had to speed things up. I pulled the rear axle off the running F1 and finished putting the shelf queen together for pictures.
Kind of highlights the change in actual F1 cars over the same period
Same basic idea, but implemented so differently!
Let me know what you guys think!
