Our Vintage Collection
I thought I'd share my family's small collection of vintage r/c's
I'll post pics up as soon as i snap some
First up is my wife's Traxxas "The Cat" buggy, complete with original dual stick controller. Its all original mechanically too
Then we have a pair of Tamiya "The Frog" buggies. They're my step-son's. One is a runner, with a newer esc, but still an original release. The other is still a project with its original msc intact, but not working properly.
He also has a Kyosho Raider 2wd buggy with a classic B&R racing motor, and msc. This looks to be a fairly modern buggy, but still gloriously retro!
Finally we have a Challenger "Kangaroo" I've never seen anything like this one. It has an early esc on it with what almost looks like a homebrew heat sink . It's a mediocre copy of a frog, with trailing arm rear, and monoshock front suspension
We have several newer r/c's and they sit on the shelf when its time to bash. The oldies are still WAY more fun to toss around

Hi, I really like those photos that you shared about your vintage collections of Tamiya. This reminded me of my brother with his collections before. I knew of it as owned and played independently. I used to recall the vintage Tamiya Glasshopper in the 1984 and I read it has been restored already by 2013.

And the Kyosho Raider...I have an image burnt into my brain of one of my buds I used to race with back in '92ish. His Raider chassis was made of a STOP sign. He could take any car and set it up to handle oval racing. He help me setup my Kyosho Optima one race (I think my only race with it) in a "dash for the cash/anything goes oval race". Everyone puts up $5 to enter; winner takes all...four minutes of 8 cells (maximum I believe) crammed into whatever you can dream up. That was some intense, car jumping off the track moments.
You can't really get a good glimpse of the chassis in the pic, but trust me, that thing turned heads.
