Default 3D printed micro vintage TAMIYA off-roaders kit

Projects: 3D printed 1:24 scale micro vintage TAMIYA off-roader kit
Hey guys, just sharing another one of my home projects creating 3d printing body kits of classic replica of TAMIYA buggies for micro scale R/C models.
Born in the 70's and i witness the golden era of classic awesome off-road of the 80's and 90's particularly TAMIYAs and not forgetting MARUI, KYOSHO and others. Back to present day i own several TAMIYA vintages but that wasn't enough for me. I've been eyeing on some cool ones that hard to come by model but price wise not really friendly for my pocket. Having lots of 1:24 scale R/C chassis laying around the hangar i found some micro off-road model having similar chassis layout as classic 1:10 scale tub HOTSHOT/BOOMERANG/SUPER SABRE/BIGWING look alike chassis. So with bright ideas i decided to recycle this chassis and scratch build my own vintage classic TAMIYA armed with 3d modelling and 3d printing tools. So i decided to post "work in progress" stuff and also how the miniature vintage evolve on this threads. The 1:24 base chassis i'm using come from cheap 4WD SUBOTECH. ( https://www.supermotoxl.com/designs-...24-scale-truck)
Once the project completed i'll post link for everyone to freely download the 1:24 scale kit 3d printing file (*.STL) for everyone to create and print their favorite nostalgia buggy.
So for today just showing my recent WIP project on 1:24 HOTSHOT buggy. After this will be progressing towards building the BOOMERANG and most likely the BIGWIG.

TAMIYA BOOMERANG: 50% completion

Just completed modelling and 3d printed several parts of the BOOMERANG, what's left is some minor parts like rear wing spoiler and holder for it the can proceed to painting and decals printing. The main BOOMERANG body took 5 hours to print when compare against HOTSHOT which only took 2 hours only. However my 3d Printing ABS filament almost finish and a roll of ABS plastic filament have been ordered so i can proceed to build more replicas.

Here's another one, while waiting for 3d printing ABS filament roll to arrived i keep my self busy modelling the 3rd my favorite classic model, the BIGWIG! Slightly harder to model and more likely to have lots of parts to print and assemble because of front vertical shock mount.

The 1:24 scale BIGWIG kit

After more than 12 hours of 3D printing partial of the BIGWIG parts have been 3d printed and fitted nicely on 1:24 scale SUBOTECH chassis. Now remaining left is to print the half side of the wheels and the vertical front shock mount. Then will proceed to paper sanding to smoothen the body surface and airbrushing.

3D printed TAMIYA kit project completed!

Finally after long days 3d modelling, 3d printing, painting and fitting the right decals the 3D printed replica TAMIYA vintage buggy kit for 1:24 scale SUBOTECH chassis completed! Behold! the world first 3d printed replica TAMIYA kit for 1:24 R/c chassis! These three models are my long most beloved 80's childhood R/c model that i always wanted to have. Tear drop down my cheek seeing my hard work producing what was once reflecting my young days with just 10 cent in my pocket. I need to go out now to celebrate my success with large bowl of ice cream and fried chicken.

For those interested i will upload the 3D print files and decals soon. I need to take a break and stare at these lovely works of art on my table.

Work in progress: 1:24 scale classic TAMIYA NISSAN KING CAB
Scratch build 3d model a TAMIYA NISSAN KING CAB using old 3d program and today completed almost 12 hours of 3d printing on my 3d printer using ABS filament.
The raw printed model is a bit rough on the surface due to cheap china ABS plastic filament that hardly melt properly but still fixable via lots of sand paper work to smoothen the surface. The 1:24 scale will fit on WL-TOYS A212 chassis which almost have similar width layout like the replica TAMIYA Nissan King Cab. Will keep you guys updated soon. I still need to remodel a 3D meshes of replica wheels to match the replica appearance.

3d print project replica 1984 TAMIYA GRASSHOPPER
Here's my 5th replica TAMIYA project for 1:24 scale: The GRASSHOPPER. It took me about less than 24 hours to 3d model from scratch via Z-modeler. The kit designed for SUBOTECH 4WD platform but unlike the previous 3d print project i tricked out the front wheels to match the 2WD looks on 4WD drivetrains platform. So today i've completed the 3d model works an in another 24 hours later will start to do some 3d printing works. Hopefully i have enough spare ABS filament material to complete the printing since most already wasted on NISSAN KING CAB. Will keep you guys updated.

I love the boomerang.
For the king cab, would it fit the Losi Micro T High Roller? could look good on it

Hi Tom,
Yes the king cab body would definately fit on Losi Micro T High Roller, You'll just need to resize/rescale the 3d STL file through 3d printer utility tools.
