Cool mods! [sm=thumbs_up.gif]

So you need some kind of bracket to mount the CRP arms?!

ORIGINAL: alaskadf300

Wow!, Hope you get it squared away soon. Here are two pics of my slow build progress. The first shows the hand-made bracket mounting for the CRP upper arm pivot. The second is another hand-bent aluminum servo mount, this is after I saw many photos of cracked and warped plastic where the sevos mount.

Thank you, yeah, the bracket makes the arms much more parallel than they would have been. I will post pics within moments, kinda went on a building spree.

I think those shocks are too long for LB...and still not seeing much detail of mounting the CRP kit...

See previous page for close-up of CRP bracket mount, and yes, the shocks are longer than expected. They are Kyosho W5143, and I got them at a great price. So what if it's more top heavy, I'll be able to jump 14 garbage cans!, Ha!!.

Thank you, I'm quite happy about the results so far. I hope to have the wheelie-bar built and the painting done by next weekend.

You can always put some spacers inside the shocks to shorten the travel, if you feel its too tippy.
Now go and build an independent rear suspension!

Ha!, I actually like the rear setup since it's so bulletproof. I only put it the CRP kit to keep the front tires at non-silly angles when cruising over bumps. If I can get away with it, I may someday put another LB gearbox in the front with twin brushless motors and custom length shafts.

That may be blurry, but it clearly has missing teeth. I think your camera locked onto the dead action figure in the background, LOL.

Ha!, I have a 1/12th scale Dr. Evil action-figure that may end up in my LB, just have to fab an interior. Hope you can fix the gear problem and end up with a truly tough gearbox that doesn't fail again.

Yep, but it would cost the same as buying 5-6 lunchboxes. The thought did cross my mind, but rather than having them made, I was going to hunt for the nearest fit, gear by gear until I had set that would function.

Oh, I am sure everything is possible.. but just saying it is odd when people can run 300 watts system through it and it holds up fine.. while you broke 2 spurs in 10 runs?!

oh its possible, see.

well, im thinking about using the 18t pinon from the hornet, to get not so much torque, and when i get brushless, i will try the mm 4700

18T, might over-gear the motor too much and burn it up... but it will be really fast!!

A good way to do the 3rd shock? It should be really secured, but the rear axle flexes.. so I am not so sure about having the shock mounted this way (through the steel pin) is the way to go?! Hmm...

if they left room for it to move then it'll be all good. if the shock is flush against the axle...then maybe not.
