Haha

75's shouldn't be a problem.

I don't recall how big my front were but I remember putting an insert inside the body to give the truck a lowered front/raked kind of look and also to correct the horrific toe problem on the front wheels.

@oldschool:
80mm at the front are too long. I'd use 75 oder 70mm.
I use shocks from Yeah Racing (you can order them at rc-mart.com). Costs: 10 $ / pair.

@casper:
The light kit is a selfmade one. It costs 4 € (~ 5,2 $).
Xenon-like LEDs with 44.000 mcd.

No recommendations? Shocks are the only thing haulting me right now! Anyone? What aluminum oil filled shocks should I get?? Please reply!
i used evader aluminum shocks, but also get the rebuild kit for them . i replaced my o rings with better o rings and dont leak now. or a bottle of green slime and take apart the shocks and coat the o rings in that stuff that will work too. look up green slime at tower to order it.

i'd heard evader shocks leak, but you really had to replace the orings AND coat them with slime? seems like a lot of work...

I put the inserts inside to compensate...plus the truck has a little squat too.

I assume you meant camber.... since toe is adjusted through the steering tie-rods..

naa its easy , they open from the bottom and have snap plastic covers with o rings inside. i replaced the o rings with some good o rings i have in a 300 pc kit i bought, but have coated o rings before with green slime too ,and once done never leaked agan. i think the whole prosses of either sliming or replacing the o rings of all 4 on the evader shocks took me 10 minuts . really simple to disasemble , i definitly recommend it and will cause less headach down the road, o ring kit used highly recommend

There is a ton of difference in caster and camber and toe etc. [&:] Haha the lunchbox is made to look cool and be a fun vintage runner though so you aren't going to help the handling characteristics that much anyway. You will find that whatever fix you do to one aspect of the steering usually hampers some other area. The same can be said for frog, hopper, hornet, blackfoots etc you just have to accept the slop, and angles as a quirk and move on. To me it is one of the endearing features!

Can't change caster angle on the LB unless you go crazy w/ the mod..

Toe is obviously easily changed via the steering tie-rods..

Camber -> you can't really change it except through the ride height, since you can't change the front suspension geometry..

But yeah, this ain't no competitor for a T4 or XXX-T...

Hoping my wife gets me a box for my b-day, I think I have done everything to give her good hints. I put it on my tower wish list, informed her that the LHS is very competetive to towers price's because "they had a lunch box kit in there for the same price as tower!" and of course leaving this forum on the screen before she gets on the PC. Wish me luck guys and gals! I need a mate for the stampede.

leaving hints leaves room for error. put it on top of your bday wish list and erase the rest. then give the list to her.

You should say" honey! Have you seen my lunchbox? If only it was yellow and had wheels!" before work each day!

just buy a lunchbox and tell the wife 'look what I got for my birthday' or what works for me is the old 'hey I picked it up off ebay for almost nothing'
