The logistics goes like this:
LB order the shell from Tower
Tower ships to LB
LB gives it to AutoX
AutoX paints it
AutoX gives it back to LB
LB ships out to ArildS
Global economy, man... (joke)

I agree, but in this case, the middle man doesn't make any money, so there's no friction, really...

This is the aftermath after landing directly on the wheely bar with the Lunch Box. Luckily, the gears are fine, just the case is busted. When the truck hit, the rear axle snapped in half and the differential gearing went rolling down the street, luckily, everything inside the diff stayed inside.

Landing a 747 on the LB would probably do it though

I wonder if running a solid machine screw straight through the two holes for the wheelie bar can create enough rigidity to spread the load the wheelie bar puts on those little spots on the gearcase.
I have seen someone put dual wheelie bars on the back with a straight bolt through everything on tamiyaclub.
Hmmmmmm

No dropping off a cliff. I jumped it and it only fell like two feet, but when it came down, it came down directly on the wheely bar, I couldn't have planned that kind of drop. LOL I guess a trip to my LHS is in order...lol

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Hey guys. This is an awesome thread! I've read through the entire thing and have been following the updates for a few weeks. I've started a resto of sorts on my first hobby-grade R/C, the Lunchbox. The poor thing got beat to hell and survived three re-paints. I'm in the middle of striping off the paint from the past 18 years and fixing any body cracks I can find. I need to order a windshield for it too. I just ordered a set of Traxxas front shocks on ebay last night so once those come in I'll start on the chassis. I'll share some pics of it's current state as soon as I take some.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
I took some pictures last night before it tore it down for cleaning. The body is already in the middle of it's cleanup. I'm sanding down all of the fine body lines that got all scratched up to give it a clean look when I repaint it. I think I'm doing it in green. I may paint the chrome parts in a gunmetal color to refresh them and to make it a bit different. Tonight I rebuilt the tranny with some bearings. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to do the third shock mod or find some sort of replacement for those springs that were supposed to keep the tranny down.
Well, enjoy the pics!
