RE: Return of Lunchbox..
project ferrago is nearly there!! the front suspension is sorted, i have set it to max -ve camber but i think it will be too much.
fx10 front arms modified to fit and check out how close the base of the front shocks get to the top arm (white)
the uprights are from a tamiya madbull and needed to be trimmed so they dont rub .

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
the final of project ferrago!!!!!!!
the wheels are on, the body is on..
the wheels are something i thought i would try... standard madbull wheels painted blue.. then the m-04 beetle wheels i had laying around i have cut the back off and drilled the centre out, then i bonded the 2 together and this is the result.. i kinda like it.. a pain to fit but look totaly different!!!
i love the new stance the box has... the rear axle is way out the back now and the front looks wide and low!!! maybe a bit too much camber though.. roll on sunday for test day!!!!

Ha, why 4 LBs?! (Not saying that you need any reasons for having multiple LBs.. ha!) You plan to build them up for your families or you are just gonna keep them NIBs?!

Finally got mine up and running yesterday. The lavender one belongs to my firend. We were trashing it happily the whole day!!!.
I noticed that whenever the LB is in reverse, the front shocks sink to the bottom to the extend where the inner walls of the front wheels grind the shocks.
The other thing both of us experienced was rear wheel unlocked itself!! Both of us are using Super Stock TZ and BZ respectively.

That's normal... just the suspension design of LB..

i have a feeling that wont be your last modification,
im still building mine after 3 years! just found a twin rear wheel adapter so i now need 2 more wheels and 2 tyres, i also found me a vintage transmitter and reciever and servos! old acoms, the green heavy box ones.
my next mission is twin shocks and twin front wheels.
maybe this time next year it will be finnished.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
So after I move to a new place a bunch of my new neighbors are in to the hobby. All of them are in to the stadium truck cool and all but I'm a bit different. Now with my extensive collection I want to make my lunchbox handle a bit better. its plenty of fast for me with the speed star motor and Dynamite tazer 15t esc. Now why Im here. What would be a good suspension set up for the box? Its bone stock other than the motor/esc combo. I'm all exited to have new friends in to the hobby all over again and so will my lunchbox.
THANKS
THANKS

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
well it all depends how mad you want to go,
in my opinion the ultimate suspesion mod is : oil shocks all round
3rd shock on the rear axle
2.2" wheels with foam inserts
crp front double wishbone suspesion
uprated servo saver and
metal gear steering servo

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Hi all, thanks largely to the info in this thread I bought a lunchbox for my son for christmas, having had a tamiya frog when i was a kid. I bought everything, but forgot the servo - can I just ask, would something like a Futaba Standard servo (S3003) be OK, and do i need anything else for it - servo horn/saver etc?
Just want to check before placing another order.
thanks for all the info in this thread

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
It will work fine but I put metal gear servo in mine (S3305) and an aftermarket servo saver (stiffer) to take out some play within the steering system.. !
Have fun building it with your son!! Please post pictures when you are done with it!!

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
hey, thanks. Can't wait to build it, err i mean, help build it.
Further to the servo question, would a [link=http://www.modelflight.com.au/jr_rc/jr_es_539_servo.htm]JR NES 331[/link] be OK? I can get that at my LHS for about the same as i could import the futaba for.
I am now concerned whether everything will connect together! The radio I bought is [link=http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/rc-radio-xtra-speed-with-receiver-p-31083.html]Xtra Speed[/link], is that likely to suit the lunchbox and either of the servos listed above? (I had assumed mostly universal connections although did get a battery with tamiya connection).
I should have asked this sooner. Anxious because the budget has been maxxed on this already [sm=72_72.gif]
