RE: Return of Lunchbox..
ferrago ready to run, the axels are back on and old style electrics fitted, the msc is from a blackfoot i think, the resistor wires are slightly too shot, as are the motor wires, these had to be passsed through a hole i made in the chassis, the rear body mounts hd to be seriously lowered to make the shell level, i know the body is a bit far forward but it makes you wonder why lol, over all its a bit lower and a bit wider than standard, i love it.. dont think i can use it!!parts came from a lunchbox, fighter buggy, mad fighter, m-04, mad bull and possibly blackfoot (msc)

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
i found it on ebay, the gears i found best part of 6 months ago, and thats the first case i have seen since, wasn't too many made, the late mad fighter had them and the madbull expert built edition.
really easy to fit into the LB, just need to shave the inside of the rear arms a bit, it gives loads of travel on the rear suspension too.
cant wait to see it all lit up!!!

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
hi guys, i found a nice set of tyres for the chrome pumpkin, they fit the standard wheels, but they are a different tread pattern, sort of a straight cut offset pattern also they have foam inserts and are a bit harder rubber than standard, they have nothing written on them. any ideas?
someone mentioned a company called AJ's

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
oh yeah and with the left overs i built another mix up car, its a grey madbull chassis with another clear gearbox from the madbull xb, fighter buggy suspension, and a few bits from here and there.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Just thinking here, has anyone put a 380 motor (as in, from a Grasshopper) on an LB to slow it down a bit? I know it will fit with the adapter, and it will probably lose the ability to wheelie. Just sort of wondering if it will last more than a couple runs, or will it overheat from pushing the heavier vehicle around on fixed gearing? Reason I ask is because my daughter's Lunchbox is too fast for her on the stock motor (she's not even 4 yet), and I have the stock 380 in my Grasshopper, which I could swap into her car. I know I could just turn down the throttle endpoints, but that's too easy.

I would prefer the 380 motor than turn down the end point on the radio.. I bet it would work fine.. !! Give it a try and let us know.. !!

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Yeah what the heck, I'll give it a try when I get a chance. Of course, I have ulterior motives......our club's track is hosting a vintage race next month, and the 'hopper will need the 540 for that unless I can figure out what's going on with my Frog's transmission and run that instead.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Hey guys! I just built my new lunchbox. I chose to paint it camel yellow, which closely resembles the box art image I think.
It is all original at the moment exept from the ball bearings.
Let me know what you think of it..

Looks great Tamiya1978, I see the wheels are a little dirty, the body looks very shiny, I guess you haven't flipped her yet huh? You going to mod her?

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Hi Noja &Lunchboxer, here's Vanessa after her first day in the field...
Yeah, I think I will upgrade to a Tamiya Sport Tuned motor soon and will keep the stock springs 'till they break....I kind of like the bouncy style of the 'box now...
My 6 year old son is crazy about the Lunchbox and was crying when the battery was dead today..
Maybe I will buy a second Lunchbox for his birthday so we can race together... only have to find another cheap transmitter like the vintage Acoms one on the photo which I bought at a local flea market for 5 bucks.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Hello there, I just found out, after a first inspection, that one ofthe wire springs already broke and the other one flipped above the axle.
I know a fifth shock would fix the problem, but has anyone got a cheap alternative or a trick to help me out until I saved some money for an upgrade?

Hello all, since nobody has ever posted a pic that shows the amount of shaving that is required for fitting the frog adapters, I thought I would.
