It is less versatile.. more meant for on-road goofing around.. while WW can goof around on/off-road.. !
Maybe... that's just my guess.. !!
But yeah, they are kind of rare.. you see them on eBay now and then, but usually the shell is in pretty bad shape..
I have a set of the re-released (in 2000?) limited edition Wheeler bodyset.. (yeah, cost me a lot.. argh.. [:@] ).. also got the wheels / tires that Tamiya recommends to use for the conversion.. but I can't find the info for the parts needed for the body mounts.. (although in the worse case, you can probably just fab it somehow.. since it is just the body mounts.. and probably a better system..)
Anyway, that's a project for the future... [:'(]

Perfect car to represent a crazy tiny stunt mobile. I haven't seen a real City Turbo (actually City Turbo II, wide fender model) in real life but they look tiny compared to other cars.

Reminds me of a Penny Racer I don't know if you guys are old enough to remember those. I can't stop staring at the shell.

No need to be jealous.. I think when it was released in Japan, they are like around $35-40 USD list price. But I had to pay like 5x that price to get my hands on one...
Oh well.. what we'd do for rare RCs.. ha ha!!

I've read this whole thread (nearly!!) so I had to show you my new WW2. It's completely standard except for ballraces but it's still a lot of fun - my kids love it!

Thanks LB
I always wanted a WW when I was younger, but my LHS never seemed to have stock. I had a Wheeler which was a lot of fun though the shell was easily damaged - hope Tamiya see the light and re-release those, would be great to have both Willy's rides.
The Bullhead was a Christmas present from my girlfriend (now my wife), must be getting on for 20 years ago!! Now I feel old! The Clod was a recent ebay purchase, used but good. Stripped it down, cleaned, regreased etc, fitted the chassis reinforcing bits from the Bullhead/SuperClod and it's good to go. I'll probably stay with silvercans because my daughters drive them so I don't want them going too fast - my 6-year-old is dangerous enough already - LOL!!
cheers,
Rob

The Wheeler shell was re-released in early 2000 in a limited quantity.. (see my pics from last page) but that's it.. no complete kit re-released... I doubt we will see it re-released, but you never know!!

Yeah, I saw your pics - I'm jealous!! Are you going to paint it box art or something else? I like some of the metallic/pearlescent Wheelers shown earlier in this thread. I'm gonna keep hoping for that re-re though!

It is back into its place in my Warehouse.. I don't think I will work on it anytime soon.. ha ha!! But not sure what color the Wheeler should be.. maybe some sort of gunmetal.. or white.. (box art!)

Thanks Nick, the colour was the kids' choice but I think they chose well. Can't get Tamiya sprays in the UK so I used auto paint (BMW bright red).

Anybody, willa550 motor bea drop-in? I ask because I'm considering putting inone. But I don't want to grind parts just to make it fit.
Rob - I ike your detailed paintwork- nice and clean! With your skills, I'm surprised you went conservtive on the shell.
My 2 Willy projects are almost finished. Just some more minor parts acquisitionand painting and they're ready![8D]

I have a Titan 550 motor in mine...
It is a straight drop in.. but at extreme front wheel angle (when you turn), the tires can catch the longer motor can slightly...
Doesn't bother me, but just let you know.. !!

LB - tht won't be a problem as I plan to put it in the Wide Willy. What about performnce? Did you use the 12Turn? Plan on getting the Electrifly motor. Good reviews from Emaxx users.
