RE: Tamiya Wild Willy 2 Resource Thread!
In case I misunderstood, or vice versa, I wanted to check if the 1.9 tires would fit the original rims.
The 1.9 tires are 48mm inner diameter. I don't want to do any mods to it. I just want to change the tires as I want to preserve it.

RE: Tamiya Wild Willy 2 Resource Thread!
Hey I had a question about the front hubs. I feel foolish for not looking at them closer but I took the time to strip the chrome off a set of what I believed were WW2 rims. Painted them olive green to go with the WW, then I realized that they were 12mm hex all around. Must have been TLT rims, HA! It would still be great if I could figure out a way to use them on Willy, I did not want to strip original rims. Nor do I want to go through that process again. Any ideas?

What do you think about this tire? Considering it for the WR-01 rims.

Can't wait to see if someone uses this body on a drift car.

Drifting? You would probably need a M-chassis size to be able to use the VW body because of it;s short wheelbase.
Have you tried the ABC Hobby Toyota Commuter Van?

You need to paint up the driver figure.. any thought on what color you might use?!
Are you gonna paint the shell to a different color or keep it green?

Really amusing vw race. They had to stop every time they cross the start line to execute a "wheelie" for a specified distance and had to turn back if incomplete. Couldn't stop laughing the first few laps!

as some of you may remember, I started to build a Ww 4x4 some time ago. I think the project has taken over 2 years so far. Now I was working on the last part, the body.. I got stuck in a creative block... I didn't know what the body should look like. It wassen't going to be true scale but my idea was to get it somewhat original looking. What is left now is to put the body on the chassis and paint some polished chassis parts as they no longer look good together with the body
oh and for the WW connaiseurs... let's have a pop quizz : let me hear all odd things you notice about the body...

I designed the grill in a 3d designing program, then had it printed via shapeways...
http://www.shapeways.com/model/10311...y-2-grill.html
that is also how I did the axe and shovle
if you want one, it should be possible to order one there as well... the grill is mainly glued in place..

Looks like there will be another WR-02 coming out soon!! Nice!! (from TamiyaBlog post..)
58531 Suzuki Jimny (SJ30) Wheelie (WR-02)
And looks like there will be a CVD setup for Willy finally!
54394 WR-02 Universal Shaft Set
Hopefully it will be tough enough, though.. WR-02 is very rough on the driveshaft due to lifting wheels up and spinning and then smash down and stop the rotation instantly..

Yeah, I am hoping for some heavier duty CVDs that's special for WR-02, though! (since as mentioned before, Willy is pretty rough on the outdrives / driveshafts)
We will see!!

Nice.. which company makes that?
Would be interested to see what Tamiya come out with.. I assume it would be different than the one they have for the M-chassis? No idea..
