I think this is the tire they will use - fairly old design.
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXGJ73&P=ML

By the way, I keep breaking the rear plastic hex - anybody knows a good aluminum replacement?
size is 12mm x 10mm thickness.

I think that's the same tire...

Breaking hex?! [X(] Never seen that before... it might not be easy to find aluminum replacement as it is not the usual thickness.. maybe some aftermarket companies would make one...

I know right? I also experience this breaking on my other Tam kits!
And not just on the hexes, even the other plastic parts.
Might be our hot & humid weather down here that's reacting with the plastic.
Wish they would start using nylon impregnated materials. Like AE.

I got 10mm wide aluminium hexes on both my Willy's and on one I got the WR02 universals.
I found the hexes in the bay.

Yeah, they should just have left that thing out.
And it looks one piece / attached to the body.
Also noticed they used bigger diameter rear rims.
This will probably be the most unpopular WR02 body to date.
I know I don't like it. What were they thinking?

Found these on ebay. $14 for a set (shipped).

Careful! The seller has a lot of negative feedbacks.
Though I have not ready any of them yet.

Seller Izrc just replied, he has them in silver for the same price.
Me thinks I'll be placing an order for a set.

Try getting some paddles for the rear.
You can also use modelling clay to semi lock the diff.
Looks like Willy is freezing his butt!

Joel - what BL motor is that? Never seen one with the plugs jutting out the rear.
I know a couple of people with Willys. Let's get together for some bashing.
          Welcome to the Willy thread!

Merry Christmas Willy friends!

Have you guys seen Mad Modder's conversion using TL01 long arms on the Willy?
I invited him to share his conversion tips to widen our options.
Hope he joins us here.

It's not hard to fit them. The rears need no modification. For the front to convert it from the bearing in wheel design, it uses spare tl01 stub axles with another set of hex hubs, rear wheels and tires. Tamiya's non-driving axle stubs(9805502) will fit the front as well. They are used on the front of the Blackfoot Xtreme chassis and rear of the FWD M-chassis cars.

Any change in front and rear geometry?
Can you show us a pic with wheels installed please.
