Sorry, no step by step pics, it was all I could do to stop myself from just going non-stop with the build. I had to limit myself to doing a bag at a time and taking a break LOL.

Does anyone know if there are any tamiya 2.2" wheels that fit the boomerang wheel mount. I can't find any 2.0" mini pins so guess I'll have to use 2.2" but all the wheels at this size seem to be hex drive.

Standard hex drive ?? Does the new kit come with a hex drive ? I'm still running my old 1986 Boomerang - definitely no hex drive in that.

Looks good! Good job fixing it up box art style and all [8D] Man that stabilizer sure looks vulnerable up on top like that...I wonder if it would get trashed in a few rollovers etc. What motor are you going to run just silver can? You have yours built and tower still doesn't have these in stock haha how lame [&:]

Yeah, I tried to stay true to the original as far as decals although I left off a few of the little guys. Not sure about vids of the car bashing, I have a feeling that I will be sorely disappointed with the performance compared to todays electrics. And yes, that stabilizer wouldn't last one rollover I'm sure. Will run it with the straight silver can to start with and see how it goes from there. Not sure why Tower still doesn't have them in stock, makes absolutely no sense.

Well I was going to buy one until modelsport jacked up the price of the kit from £91.00 to £145.00[:@]
I have Gordon Brown and his policy to destroy the value of the pound to thank for that[]

It's 1/10 scale, about 15" long and 9" wide. Compared to modern day 10th scale, it is definitely on the smaller side. Here's a pic of it next to my son's Rustler for reference.

I still run my Boomerang from 1986. It's never had a problem with the anti roll bar. The vunerable areas tend to be the front damper mount uprights and the rear suspension arms sometimes split after a few knocks. Boomerangs are about the same size as CATS, LOSI, Associated buggies etc, but they are not as well balanced - but thats what you get with the 23 year age difference !

Andy
What is the front monoshock set up like, looks like it would bottom out easily?
How does the car handle in general?
Regarding rear arms, I've heard of people installing 4mm of fuel tube over the shock rods (inside) to limit the droop which stops the suspension arms banging up against the chassis and prevents them from breaking.

ahh, nice to see a re-re Boomerang built up! Man, what is taking so long to get these in stock?! The container ship with all our Boomerangs must be fighting upstream against some very strong currents!
I see Ultimate Hobbies now has it listed on their website and at 145.00 bucks; although not in stock yet. That's a lot better than the 175.00 Tower has it listed at. I'm glad Ultimate is carrying it.

I have an original boomerang that needs some parts.
I need a new body kit, battery cover pin, front bumper and 4 wheels.
Any suggestions?
Cheers, Brett.

Jason's store on ebay has the bumper, and body, I bet he has the pin as well, it's probably in one of the metal parts bags. What he has done is to just unbox a couple of the boomerangs and parting them out so to speak. Pretty smart, since it's hard sometimes to find the tamiya parts. Just need to look at the manual and figure what parts bag it's in. The wheels are easier found, they are the same as the hotshot right? tamiya usa has them in stock and on ebay you can even get metal chrome and gold versions now that people are reproducing etc.

Boomerang. Dual rear shocks were an upgrade from the Hotshot's mono. (cool as the mono was!)
The body looks better too, and it still has the smooth-looking front monoshock.
One thing worth mentioning is that Fire Dragons are still available and are superior performers, and for $30 less. The looks are love or hate, apparently. I love it.
Don't forget the bearing set!
