Maybe a Hi-Rider 'Vette with a Big Boss body will suffice.

Of course she has been upgraded with a full set of bearings and oil shocks for sure. Its powered by a Super Rooster ESC and a Trinity Chameleon spec 19 motor ATM. Futaba Metal Gear steering servo as well. Still a fun and semi-competent basher IMHO. I will be doing a 4WD/Sconversion relatively soon, should be fun!

RE: VINTAGE KYOSHO BUGGY & TRUCK PICS POST THEM

Wow, I never actually realized how beautiful some of the Kyosho vintage cars were until now. I especially like some of the body designs, such as on that green Tomahawk and the ultima. It would be so nice if companies like Kyosho and of course Tamiya could do some Re releases that were compatible with some of today's racers. I know it would impossible to replicate a vintage and have it perform at top peak without month's of R&D, but dreaming such a thing I guess will suffice. Nice photos by the way guys.

the sprint car is a kyosho sidways sprint the 1930's midget is a original ultima with the sideways stock body the body will be pretty tuff to find seeing that came out in the late 80's earily 90's but not impossible you might ask marwan if he has made any.The wheels are made by Tecnacraft not a common item to find super rare.

Do any of you guys who own those beautiful Kyoshos, dare put a low turn brushless or modified brushed motor in? Or is it not worth it, due to parts availability and the lack of modern technological advances that are not suited for such motors?

I have a novak brushless set up in a optima mid, ultima ,and a triumph all seem to handle the power just find I wouldn't put a brushless system in a scorpion or tomahawk probably not a good idea for the chain drives like the optima either

Beautiful cars Acme. It looks like your into Kyosho just as much as I'm into my Tamiya's. I was wondering if you race by the way, since i see your from Mass as well. I know of only 2 tracks, which both are within a 40 mile radius of where I live. If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear back from ya. Thanks.

I picked this up a few days ago it looks like its had very little use. Has great compression and nothings missing just needs a little cleaning n' some paint. Oh and a gasket for the original fuel tank cap

RE: VINTAGE KYOSHO BUGGY & TRUCK PICS POST THEM

Ok, here's my Turbo Ultima that i got for Christmas when I was 13. Currently running and LRP speedo, Le Mans 240s, Overdrive 48p gear set, Futaba radio, Imex wheels. Please excuse the wing mount, it's temporary until I pick up some wing buttons and wire.

Last week I picked this up to be a parts donor, but decided it was too much fun. It's an Ultima Outlaw Truck. The body is kinda trashed, but I have some high hopes for it. I replaced the mechanical speedo with a vintage Futaba and put a Le Mans 240st in there. I think it needs to be geared up a little-spins the tires with a touch of throttle, but not quite as peppy as I'd like. It was cheap and came with a TON of extra parts, so no need to make it a donor anyway!

Now I have a Kyosho Tracker on the way. With the amount of Ultima parts I have laying around, I'm thinking of converting it for on-road use-lowering the ride height, slap some foam tires on there maybe a General Lee scheme or one of the Smokey and the Bandit Trans Ams. I'll put up some pics of whatever it decides to be! ENJOY!

Haha, My first racer ever was a Kyosho Optima with gold shocks. PS THE BEST SHOCKS EVER!! I still race with golds on the front of my car. They're 26 years old, never been rebuilt I was out of the hobby for 15 years, unpacked the car and the shocks were still full and race ready. Absolutely amazing shocks. Kyosho messed up with their platinums.
