Can't figure out what these are.
Bought this yesterday, but Ican't figure out what they are. Some have said "Toy grade" and other's say Tamiya or Kyosho. Anyone know?

way older than a grasshopper, but i have no clue what it could be.
i tried to post this image on tamiya club but it wouldn't let me, those guys would probably know what it is.
i'll post a link to this thread over there and see if anyone can id this buggy.

Thanks kaiser. I asked to join over there and I'm still waiting on access. I looked through all the kyosho's and no match. Looked through some of the Tamiya's, but no match either. I have a hard time believing that they are Toy grade, and not Hobby grade though. Can't wait to get them in my hand to see them up close and personal.

The words "SPICA" are on the white square in the picture. I did some more research and came up with this. www.trademarkia.com/spica-73804070.html If it is SPICA, then it's late 80's and toy grade.

Definitely not toy grade. Everything is too accessible for that.
Also not a Grasshopper. Aside from the chassis being all wrong, the gearbox is different. That gearbox has the motor mounted behind the rear axle, while the Grasshopper has it in front.

Its a SPICA Road Runner, hobby grade. production started in 1986. sold by Dick Smith Electronics in Australia.

Thanks K. I saw your post over at Tamiya. Thanks for your help! Now Ican't wait to get them and get them cleaned up! First R/C for the Shelf collection!
