VIntage Nikko Tyco Tamiya Radio shack RC cars & Trucks
Hi,
I am a long time hobby enthusiast. I started in the hobby in 1988 with a Nikko Turbo Panther. Then I got a Radio Shack Red Arrow. And finally at age 14 I got my first Hobby grade car. A kyosho Ultima II. Most of us old schoolers started with a Tyco Turbo Hopper or a Radio Shack Golden Arrow, Nikko Lobo, Nikko Rhino, Nikko Bison, Monogram Lightning, Radio Shack Red Arrow ect. I have noticed no site really is dedicated to these non hobby grade models. Ihave started a site to finally give them their place in the RC world. These cars and trucks are worth just as much, if not more than some hobby grade cars. There is a huge market for them, and Ipersonally love them. If you love the old school vintage trucks & buggies then you will LOVE www.HobbyReview.net

I have a modified Nikko Thor 4 X4 monster truck. As far as scale goes, I's say it's closer to 1/12th scale than 1/10th as some claim.
I've installed silvercan (black plastic end bell) Mabuchi RS 540 motors replacing the two stock RS 380's. I Added ball bearings, Tamiya Yellow CVA oil filled hydraulic shocks and ClodBuster suspension arms at the back.
I'll post pics later. I have to dig it out from storage.
