help pick my next tamiya
so i want to build another tamiya kit.
money is tight, so right now im leaning toward the holiday buggy. i found the kit on ebay for $99 i have already had a cc-01 and lunchbox. I read that a 540 motor can be installed. will the included TEU 104BK handle that? and what is the turn limit on that ESC? Next, i am not familliar with the DT-02 chassis. the pics make the buggy look small. Does it use a standard size nimh pack? I figure i will spend the extra $20 to get a ball bearing kit. Any other nice mods for this buggy? http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Tamiya-H...item5aded6352d List any other kits in the same price range, $100-$120!!! |

the holiday buggy is nice i have one ... the size is standard 1/10 buggy size.
uses normal size batteries and the stock ESC handels only 27 turn motors I put a standard 540 in mine it's ok but if you want it faster go with the tamiya J johnson 540 or the tamiya sport tuned for even more speed. Here is mine. |

I just picked up the re-release FAV. I built it back when it was new in the 80's and it was a blast back then. Can't wait to get it built again. Much older technology that the Holiday Buggy re-re but I'm sure it's a better build and for not much more money.

here it is, my DF-02
completed with flysky radio t-pro metal gear servo upgraded alloy steering linkage, front stock tower and wing mount. I decided to mod the some of the stock decals and use very few of them. I liked the cleaner look. I have an ezrun 35amp brushless system in it. Needs a larger pinion, but has plenty of power still. |

Does it have to be off road?
I just ordered this because it will be pretty unique for a little road course. Lots of Mini Coopers out there, not too many CRXs....yet. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=TAM58503 If you are looking for inexpensive off road and want the classic Tamiya look, you gotta go Grasshopper. Can be had for $95. |

I have two Rising Storm's (DF-02) I'm getting ready to sell.
I want to sell both cars and I will include the spare parts I have. Both cars come with their individual radios, so throw in some batteries and you have a pair of RTRs. Both cars have some under body wear but otherwise clean and straight. I'll refer to them as Blue and Yellow respectively. Blue: Tamiya bearing kit Tamiya Sport Tuned 540 Motor with blue Tamiya heat sink GPM aluminum shocks (adjustable screw-type) 12mm blue hexes (locking) DuBro hex screws as available with HPI screw sleeves for the upper suspension arms (the Tamiya screws kept backing out) GPM steering rods with Traxxas ends Futaba 2PH AM Transmitter Futaba R122JE Receiver Futaba S3003 steering servo Futaba MC230CR ESC HPI #3033 star wheels (57x35mm, originally gray, painted blue) HPI #4475 M Compound Rally Tires The second "Yellow" car I've had for couple months now and was primarily meant as a spare, but is fully assembled. Yellow: steering flex reducer bar 12mm hexes metal (non-locking) stock 540 motor adjustable front upper arms aftermarket wing aftermarket shocks (maybe Losi) Traxxas 2215 receiver Traxxas TQ 27mhz AM Transmitter DuraTrax Sprint ESC with Deans connector Futaba S3010 steering servo I have a spare set of Rising Storm decals (still packaged) and one original set of wheels and tires in like-NEW condition. Make me an offer. I'd like to sell both cars together. Pictures soon to follow. |
