Tamiya 4x4 Bruiser problem help
 

I need help trying to get a Tamiya that i found working, i finally got an esc for it but all i can make it do is move the wheels left and right and make it go into gear and by that i mean i just see it move the rod in and out the transmission but i can not make it move forward or back I don't know what i'm doing wrong I've never owned a RC before and i would love to get this truck working if you can help i would greatly appreciate. also i do not know if i should be posting this here or not I'm not good with forums.
