RE: VINTAGE KYOSHO BUGGY & TRUCK PICS POST THEM
I actually love the platinum shocks, except that the piston is a weird size, and I haven't founs any to replace them, and also the shaft is a larger diameter, so now I can't find o-rings to rebuild them! if anyone knows where I can find some, I'd love to know.

RE: VINTAGE KYOSHO BUGGY & TRUCK PICS POST THEM
Did Kyosho make a brand called the BlueBird or was it its own company? I have just restored a BlueBird and all the parts and gears seem to be interchangeable with kyosho's buggies.

RE: VINTAGE KYOSHO BUGGY & TRUCK PICS POST THEM
Hi, BlueBird is a Taiwanese company, it has no relations with Kyosho. They used to clone Kyosho buggies in the early and mid 80's, the car you are talking about is most probably a 4WD clone of the Vanning called Athena.

RE: VINTAGE KYOSHO BUGGY & TRUCK PICS POST THEM
Thanks. That sheds some light on it. I have both the Athena and a 2wd buggy. I tried to load a couple of pics but do not have that option on this forum. I do have the pics under my models.

Just bought this Bug off Ebay US and had posted out to Australia. Don't know anything about it yet but about to sort through the forums and see what I can learn. It didn't have servos or radio but was cheap and I just love VW's so I bought it. Was pretty gummed up all over but have now pulled engine out etc to start a bit of a resto. Motor seems fine just needs some tender loving care after sitting dormant for over 10yrs.
Enjoy and info would be much appreciated. |

Hello everyone. I have noticed that this thread hasn't been active for a while so I figured I could post a couple of my recently restored Kyosho Buggies to get things going again. My collection starts with the Burns DX from 1988 and continues up to the Inferno MP5 from 1995. All pretty much "vintage" from my point of view. I am still working on a DX, DXII (for which I am trying to find repro. decals so if you know where I can get some please let me know), and a USA-1 (nitro version). You can check out more pictures in high resolution on my Flickr account. Please feel free to leave any comments or questions here on on the Flickr pages. Enjoy!

Brother in law helped his neighbor clean her garage because her husband had past and was moving. gave him this then he gave it to me cause he knows i love my vintage RC'S. Pretty sure its a stinger MK-II from 1986. it was pretty dirty and the motor is toast. but you have to start with something :) having a really hard time finding parts for this thing and the part i need the most is the belt that goes from the front and rear diff. any ideas for parts would be awesome. P.S. love every ones post. some very nice RC'S :)

Just before Christmas, I packed these two guys up and shipped them off to their new owner who was going to restore them and enjoy them. I'm going to miss them but they would have been destroyed being driven daily.
I have since replaced the Turbo Optima and Ultima with a Traxxas Rustler VXL and a few extras. Hate to trade those two for a traxxas like everyone else (feel like I should sell my Caliber SRT4 and get a Civic), but it was the better option. |
Kyosho Salute
Won this on a local auction site for $40 I gave him great feedback he gave me my money back. Came with radio two chargers and another set of wheels

Hello everyone,
I finished "restoring" my USA-1 today. It is not a stock rebuild like my other models as it was already heavily modified when I bought it with carbon fibre radio plate, Futaba ""Jumbo" servo and a large fuel tank. I put on a new body and chrome parts, new polished muffler and replaced a few worn pieces here and there and added original Kyosho NB-13 lights to the front. I might add some to the rear later on. I might also replace the current engine with an OS RG 21 Black Head but right now I quite like the hint of purple. More pictures are available on my Flickr page (click on the link below the picture). Now I just need to finish my Kyosho DX and DXII (which will be 100% stock), and the vintage collection will be complete. :D By the way, I am looking for a new(ish) pink Nylon wing (BSW71-KP) for my DXII. If anyone has one let me know. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7363/1...6d86e980_c.jpg Kyosho USA-1 Nitro Crusher von lexster76 auf Flickr http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7383/1...a0deb8aa_c.jpg Kyosho USA-1 Nitro Crusher von lexster76 auf Flickr |
