Your Komet looks like it will be quite nose heavy, mine was too, I had my battery behind the wing and had to add lead to the tail. the elevon reflex will overcome this but only at higher speeds.

I think I had about 1/2 to 5/8 inch throw in all directions, I will usually tune it from there to suit my personal taste. the komet is a cool sight in the sky. Mine went like a rocket.(sorry about the pun) rolled real fast but was still a little nose heavy for real sharp pitch maneuvers. and the wingspan was a little short for combat. hope all goes well on it's maiden flight.

This is the Lee Liddle SSC Cobra. It is held my daughter Victoria in our front yard. It weighs 2-1/2 lbs, is powered by an OS LA .15 and is yellow death in the combat skies. These kits are available from Roy Appleton, web master of www.texascombat.com, a complete construction and flight report is available on www.georgiacombat.com

OK Lou we can see it's not the plane you're trying to show off, although it does look nice.
You did good, she's a very pretty young lady.Got her looks from her mom I'd guess

Well if you've ever met Lou, you know the looks did not come from him!
Very nice!
The plane is pretty cool too!
All kidding aside, the Cobra is definately one HOT plane! I've got 2 now and they fly like they are on rails!
My A class Cobra has an LA 15 turning an APC 7X4 @ over 19K! this was attained on a standard clunk tank, not a bladder! Very close to "B" speeds and turns like there is no tomorrow!

RE: Show us your home-brew combat designs.
Ive been building planes a very long time [scince I was 8 I'm now 46] mostly out of my head. I use the that looks about right way of doing things. I dont have real prints.never could afford them you dont make a lot when you 8 so I just got used to building that way. I get the basics from three views blow them up to the size I need and go from there. I know thats realy not what you want to hear but its the way I do it, can not expalain it I just cut the Corro from the views and start gl;uing. I have templates that I use once I get the bugs out of a desing and thats about all I have. Where are you from? perhaps you could come and I could show you how I do it I am better at showing how than putting it in words and we could fly some combat.

RE: Show us your home-brew combat designs.
Greetings,
I am new to combat (only had one fight so far), and here is my homemade COM-BAT. I know, I know, not too pretty, but hey, this thing is a rocket!

That looks cool, Combat is a blast and addicting. I'm currently building an SSC Cobra, should be done in a week, waiting for parts in the mail.

RE: BadSeed
Well its all coroplast construction except the main spar. The is 5/8 bass wood. The wing span is 48 inches, the cord at the center is 12 inches, and at the tips its 6 inches. Weight, just as it sits there minus fuel, is 3 lbs. 1 oz. You can use the large vertical stabilizer to hand launch it or hold it by the fuel tank and toss is in the air. The builder is going to be selling these at the nationals at Muncie this year. Not sure what the price will be but I would guess around 50 to 55 dollars, but that is not a quote. So if anyone is interested I will forward the info to him.

RE: Show us your home-brew combat designs.
Here are some pictures of my 1/2a combat wing.
36" wing
15oz
Norvel Big Mig .061
Electron 6 RX
HS-55 servos
Still dialing it in...
Need to find a happier CG and replace the 1 inch elevons with 1.5 inchers.
