GMS’ Tim Smith: 126.50 mph!
At the International RC Speed Challenge’s “Ultimate Speed Run” in Fontana, CA, Tim Smith established two new world speed records for the ISC’s 2WD Modified and stock classes with his Grand Motorsports dragsters. Tim’s 2wd Stock yellow GMS dragster outfitted with a Speed Passion GT 2.0 pro speed control, Speed Passion 4.5 motor, and 7.4v 5250 mah MaxAmps lipo batteries set the new class mark at 101.61 mph officially becoming the first 2 cell car over 100 mph, and Tims other car, a GMS dragster modified with a green-flamed ProtoForm “Future Shock” body and custom inboard front wheel setup, used a Tekin RX8 speed control, Neu motor, and four MaxAmps 3250 mah lipo batteries to blaze to an incredible 126.50 clocking, the fastest speed ever officially recorded for a two-wheel drive RC vehicle. All times were recorded on dual photocell/timer systems for accuracy and backup.
Congratulations to Tim and all the other competitors at this year’s Ultimate Speed Run for their outstanding 100-plus mph performances!
