RJ Speed

Are the RJ Speed drag cars any good? I see the need to upgrade to wheel bearings. Besides that are there any other issues I should be aware of?

Thanks

One thing I found out is the plastic hubs are prone to splitting in half. I don't know if the plastic is cheap or what.... I have two sets of hubs and they are both cracked. One set was installed but never ran.
I am making some aluminum hubs this weekend. I can see myself paying $30 for a set of hubs when I have the tools to do them myself.

Is the hub issue due to running bushings rather than bearing? I really like the idea of building a nitro pro mod dragster, however there is no organized drag racing locally so I'm afraid I will quickly become bored with it.

No, the bearings won't keep the hub from splitting. It may just be me. But I would recommend upgrading to aluminum hubs though.

Thanks, I've been to trax 70 Just happened by one day nobody there. Definately need to make it back some time. But it isn't near by for me, I'm clear down in Cumberland county. Near the Del. Bay, looking at a good hour and a half each way. Guess it depends on how badly I want to race. Thanks and I will be up to check it out.

I would also like to know where aluminium hubs can be ordered from? One other thing: how many guys run races with the throttle servo and micro switch option? It means instantaneous full power. Is that hard to control? Is an ESC and brushless motor the better option?

www.teamwalbern.com

Not many People run the Micro Switch set up anymore. With the New Technology they are going faster with brushless set ups. The best part of the Brushless deal is not Cutting arm,Brushes Springs ECT.
