Well, at least you got one!
You'll be pleased, I'm sure!
I suppose I'll keep looking, as I really would like another one! It is an EXCELLENT chassis!

kstmRYD,
Don't know if this will help you at all, but found some on Amazon for $299.99
Kinda pricey, for just the base kit, but if all else fails.......
There's some replacement/ hop-upparts listed, too.
I may have to go that route, as I don't want all the extras (ESC/motor, servo, etc.) because I have my own component choices that work for me.
Anyway, another choice.

RE: Losi JRXS Type R is a great drift platform!
Geeez, looking around at what people payed for there JRX-S compared to what i paid has really got me happy . Mine was opened, but never had a battery in it. The guy that sold it to me intended to use it as a carpet racer. It was his first car and he had high intentions to race it, but never did. The system it came with is worth what i payed. As they say though "my lose is your gain" [sm=tongue_smile.gif]

Know what you mean.....I look at what the VDF's that are left are going for, and it's wild!
You got a great deal! most who set it up to race put high-qual components in them! Seems you definitely got one of those! Congratulations!!!!
It's been suggested that Tamiya will come out with a cheap version of the VDF, with plastic everything, for a substantially reduced price. Others think not. I'm ambivalent about it, because I like my JRXS-R better than my VDF!! I just wish Losi hadn't discontinued it as abruptly as they had!

A domestic chassis, my teammates are gonna fall back! I will put her on the work bench, counter steer her, try to max out steer angle and see if she has what it takes to run with the rest of the boys.

I think you'll really like it!
Steering can go a ways more! I've already done that.
Let me know what pulleys you use.
Adjustments are everywhere! Have fun!

gokemidoro - do you happen to know what size pulley's are on there now? I know nothing about this chassis. I will start with mild counter steer like 1.5 for now.

RE: Losi JRXS Type R is a great drift platform!
From the manual, it says 42T front and rear. I looked up option parts, and Losi offers only an "overdrive" pulley, 41T. I know it uses SAE sizing, but I don't know if that transfers to things like belts and pulleys. Maybe hole spacing?
I talked with another guy who has one, and he is using the 41T in the rear, and says he gets CS with it, but I'm skeptical that it is. That's not even close to .5 ratio. Losi doesn't list any other center pulley sizes, though Ihaven't checked for other models in their line. I think the original JRX-S uses the same set-up as the JRXS-R. XXX-S maybe?
Let me know what you find.

RE: Losi JRXS Type R is a great drift platform!
41T in rear gives .02 not enough CS for an ameba! ha! ha!
A 15T drive pulley in front gets me at 1.53 CS, HPI 85016 is a 15T and Tamiya TA04 has a 15T, I think I have one already in my box of goodies. A 15T with a 28 pinion/128 spur gets me at 4.571 gear ratio and final drive CS ratio of 7.01 - this setup give me really smooth throttle control. This is important for tracks that have one or two straightaways. CS cars are hard to control on straights so smooth increases and decrease of throttle is important.
Sorry if I'm boring you, I get carried away with this stuff. JRXS-R scheduled to get here by the 10th, soon as it gets here I'll start the work and post pictures of the progress.

Let me know if those parts fit......It does use SAE sizing, so I'm not sure metric will fit properly, unless the sizes between the parts are close. Axle diameters and crosspin size are an example. they are markedly smaller than metric axles everybody else uses. I tried to fit Genki brake discs, and it's ano-go, too large for the axles!, too much play.
Still, I think it's a great chassis! Drifts are TIGHT! It can still do wide sweepers, though, so it's pretty versatile.
