Default Starter help!!!

Hey guys i just watched a couple videos and looked at some cars about RC Drifting. I have been interested in drifting but i didn't know that there were RC Drift cars. Anyways i need help with buying my first RC Drift car. I don't want a overly expensive car. I'm looking for a car that is for a beginner and that is in the price range of 100 - 175. Any suggestions would be helpful. If you can help me out that would be great!

for that price range you can get the tamiya tt-01 or the E the tt01 comes as a kid and you would need a remote, or an ESC sometimes the ESC is included, the E some of them come RTR

Yup I'm running a TT01E, it's a great starter car that isn't too complicated

Other options are the HSP Flying Fish, and a HPI E10.

The flying fish seems to be a pretty good option too and they come RTR

ps. I dont have a clue about the shop's credibility just and example

All of the cars listed except the TT01ED (and you would still need to buy a radio and receiver for this) are kits. Even after you purchased the kits you would still need electronics. Which goes WAYabove the 100 - 175 dollar price point you are looking for. If you want something like this Iwould save up a little more money or look for a used one.

HEre is a list of Tamiya chassis from tower hobbies, but you need to read the descriptions and see if they need any more electronics & make sure it is 4WD

Hope that helps. Not a lot of people have the Exceed RC Drift car, and are skeptical because of the low price. Do a search on here for the chassis and the people that do have them say they are not bad, BUT do end up buying a higher end chassis within a few weeks to months because driving skills become better than the car, and they want more adjustability.

im in canada alberta calgary, and all the tamiya kits come with a speed control, all that is needed is a radio he can get a cheap FM or AM radio to start with, thats what i did, and yes every one does spend more then they plan on a drift car or any RC for that matter so OP, if you want to go my rute its up to you, but building the RC your self will give you alot of info on to change the parts your self and not to take it in to a hobby shop for repair...

Im just amazed at people that take there RCS to a hobby shop to get something replaced on them or fixed.
I saw a guy last time get charged 120 or what i saw was 120 for a front a arm change on an e revo??? takes 1 h to change the damn a arms. Thats why theres a big ass risk buying used. 1. the owner might not know **** about RC and all she/he wants to do is drive it and when it breaks he/she takes it to a hobby shop to get fixed.

Once again i was at this hobby shop and a guy came in with a broken a arm on his front truggy, what he did was what? he told the hobby shop he wants them to sell it for him for $200 and he bought a new same kind truggy and then went out side and started to rip it in the parking lot, i looked at him and asked dude you drive it right away? hes like yes its fast as hell, i asked and did you break in the engine and his answer was... whats that mean and whats it for.... when he went out side i told the hobby shop guy?? why dont u tell him what the car needs to last and his answer was what? cuz he always comes here and buys a new rc or every time some thing breaks i shook my head and left with out buying any thing fromt that hobbyshop.

And i can asure you this kid was not rich or any thing buy what he was wearing and the rc it self was for like 150 bucks lol

Wow that's some pretty un-ethical selling, although you'd think the guy who was buying the trucks would wonder why they bloody break all the time!!

I'm not arguing against him building his own, I was merely trying to help him stay in a budget that he set for himself. If he stated a bigger budget Iwould have shown all of the kits that you showed him. When Istarted Idid a TB-03D kit, but Ihad a bigger budget to work with, and Istayed within that budget.
