Ok now I know that the Tamiya will have more available parts, and probably more upgrade capacity, but I don't really intend to upgrade it. I just want a sort of out of the box (minus tires) electric drift car. Does anyone have an Nascada? I have a Himoto Rapida Pro and that nitro drifts well. Just looking for opinions I know that the Tamiya has a lot of love around here. So I'm expecting everyone just to say, go with the Tamiya.

Well you do know that the tt-01 does have more support but I would have to say if you don't plan to up it that much then be different and don't get the tt-01.

Haveing never driven either one I have to say I like the way the himoto looks better. I'm probobly going to get a beating for this but I've never liked the way the tt-01 looked. Just me. Let us know what you end up getting.

I found the Nascada for 89 dollars shipped from Exportpro on ebay. Also it comes with a 2900 mah battery. Seems like the Nascada is far better in terms of price. Performance though probably not up to par, but it doesn't seem like anyone owns a nascada. I think I'm going to get a nascada, it's cheaper, I get more, and I think it would be interesting to see how it compares. Maybe I'll take some good video of mine and see what others think in comparison to their tt01's.

yeah the tt-01 looks a little...bland? if you will. Unless you fix up a tt-01 it looks plain. but it all depends on what you wanna pay. I think that being different would be cool. keep updated

The bottom line is that I know I can drift with it. Doesn't look like from the video that it drifts as well as the tt01, but it might be fun to tweak it a little and see if I can get the same results cheaper.

i purchased a himoto nascada from ebay a couple of months ago and the only thing that broke was the radio system(just happened yesterday). all the electronic on the chassis still work, but i upgraded it all just for more performance.
when i first got it i was amazed how quick it was and how well it drifted on pvc or abs tires.

Wow... nice RX7.....
Think the Nascada has potential, and if it costs only $89, I totally agree it`s much better than the TT-01. From the pics, it looks like a clone TB-02 to me, furthermore it comes with an aluminium top plate, better than the tamiya stock chassis!

thanks for all the comments guys! i like drifitng in the himoto chassis. its even better now with all my upgraded parts. not sure how fast it actually goes, but my 3000 mah battery last for at least 20 min.
im using a trinity monster pro stock motor.
the wheels are from speedtechrc.com. the brand are speedway pals
the tires are cut abs plastic from a ebay seller that sells 12 tires for $12.50(free shipping)
when i first got the himoto i got a small pebble stuck on the gears and it slightly bent some of the teeth, but i havent had a problem like that for a while.

Another cool thing I just found out is that the Himoto Nascada comes with a full ball bearing set.

Oh also I have to put in that I misread the auction for the car the 2900 mah battery is optional (it comes with a 1800mah) Which is good if you have a rotostart

I'm pretty sure this is a TB02 rip-off. They've replaced the gear cover and front support with a piece of aluminium (upper deck).
The spur and pinion are exposed; this is a very poor design.
Chris.

Hmm the spur and pinion on my HPI nitro is exposed. Why is it an issue? Just curious.
Anyway I did buy the car, and the following:
[ul][*]1X Himoto Nascada 4wD Shaft $89.00 (ebay)[*]1X DuraTrax (18T) IntelliSpeed DTXM1059 Auto-Sport Forward/Reverse ESC $37.99 (tower)[*]1X Trinity (27T) Co27 Monster Stock Pro Motor $31.99 (tower)[*]4X Tenergy 7.2V 3500mAh NiMH 6C Battery Packs $49.88 (ebay)[*]1X HPI r34 GTR Skyline Body $24.56 (ebay)[*]1X Yokomo Light Buckets for Skyline $13.49 (ebay)[*]1X Speedway Pal Slidemaster Chrome 8.5mm offset Wheels (4) $21.99 (genki dori)[*]1X Yokomo Super Drift Zero-ONE 'R' Tyres (4) 23.42 (ebay)
[/ul]
Total: $292.32 (shipped)
So next step is slap it together, paint it up and get it on the road for some video
