Don't use PVC, don't use PVC, don't use PVC.....etc.

ABS is much better and is what the dudes in the SG vids use (thin wall grey ABS)

Kev
if you didnt know, PVC and ABS are exactly the same material, one is black and one is white, the only different in them is that ABS has some special chemicals making it banned from some of the States in the USA.

PVC is perfectly fine.

The tt-01D is a great drifter. It even has double compound tires - with a different compound on the inside to the outside to help with high speed drifts. I would definitely recommend it - esp as a first car as you then have or the radios and stuff and its easy to get a new chassis.

With almost all RTR packages, you will need to supply your own battery and charger.

No, it is not single speed. Not even MSCs are single speed.

Yes, the only difference is the body between those two packages.

Just go to towerhobbies.com or something and search 1/10 body.

That's the transmittion you're looking at. It runs at a single speed. ALL ELECTRICS RUN A SINGLE SPEED. Nitros tend to have 2 speeds due to their extreme power. Electrics don't have that much power, so they only have one speed.

If you think of it in real-car terms, it's pretty much saying it has one gear(or one speed), as opposed to a real car, which usually has 4 to 6 gears.

You're thinking it says single speed as in it only goes ONE SPEED in terms of SPEED, not gearing.

If you still don't understand, it's nothing to worry about, trust me.

Any car will drift.. it just depends on what car you want to get and how much money your willing to spend... I drift my tb-02r with electrical tape on the tires... and race the car in the TCS series as well... best of both worlds... and it was a kit so i used the electronics i already had...

Incorrect statement!

PVC is Polyvinyl chloride
ABS is Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene

Read up here if you don't believe me [link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyvinyl_chloride]PVC[/link] [link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acrylonitrile_butadiene_styrene]ABS[/link]

does it really matter what car you have? all you really need is a touring car with drift tires surely? its not about who has the best car its about who controls it best.

my advice is get any car and learn to control it. the first car you learn to drift with will probably be the car you stick with since you know the handling

first off, never consider a tt-01. I have one and like it, but it's design is shiznit. If you're gonna just be drifting, try a t-spec or a tb-02. Belts are a little easier to drift with because they have no toruque steer, but at the same time, it's bad for the belt and your drifts aren't gonna look very cool. I emphasize that If you do decide to just drift, that you really should not get anything 300 with electronics. I would just stick to the tb-02 and a brushless. As a drifter you are probably just gonna bash it and occasionally drift race it, so you definitely don't want to have to think about cutting the comm.

Drifting puts far less strain on the belt than grip racing, and just look at the current crop of pro spec belt grip racers and you'll see that shaft isn't the be all and end all.

In Singapore, most of us use 2 sets of tires. PVC & HPI T-Drift. PVCs are good because they're cheap and readily available. T-Drift tires provide more grip on a slippery surface. As for beginners, RTRs are good if you are starting out and afraid to assemble the kit and make mistakes but trust me, you'll have to learn somewhere. TT01s are quite easy to assemble and cheap for starters. You can progress to better cars once you get the hang of things. TA05s are popular in SG too. As are HPI and Yokomo if you can afford. Good Luck.
