The x3 Windings Would mean that a ESC that has a 15T limit would be needed to account for Current Draw and Torque Load it could put out..
I have to agree with Spartan though, the Method R's are way sufficient for Drifting as they are a x2 Wind motor..

are you running the method R motor.? if so have you been happy with it and are you use drift tires . I got the new hpi sprint 2 and im running drift tires had a hpi pro 4 with a 8.5 turn brushless but it's way to much speed and power for drifting . my new car has a 17x2 brushed motor but it's got bushings not bearing and heats up way to fast

I use the Team Orion Method R 15x2T for High Speed Drift on Polypipe.. on my Sprint 2.
Now the 15x2T is Great for 30kph + High Speed Broad Drifts but it is getting a little too low for Technical Drift..
When I Switch it over to rubber Thats when the Fun Begins... It then Shows th True performance of a 30.000rpm motor...
I Still use the LRP GT3 Turbo 17x2T motor on my Sprint 2 for Drift as it has plenty of Torque needed to slide..
I Just Ditched the AI ESC for a Proper No limit with Reverse...
