Default TT01R build, help confirm parts, I am a newb

I tried doing as much research/search as possible so bare with me. Been reading the forum for the past 4hrs. I found towerhobbies.com very use full to finding all my parts:

These things I am sure of(should be fine):

1. Tamiya Racing Car TT-01R Chassis Kit
2. HPI Lotus Elise 2000 Body 190mm
3. Novak XRS Reversible Sport ESC

This part I am not sure if I need anything else. Do i need any of those radio crystals or is this everything?
4. Futaba 2PH 2-Channel AM/1 S3003 Servo 79
5. Sanyo AA Alkaline Battery (8)

Now for the battery? I figured the 4200 should hold the longest charge? But maybe the brand sucks? whats best for the money?
6. DuraTrax 6-Cell 7.2V DTX4200 NiMH Stick Standard

Does this charge come with all the plugs? I cant seem to find any pics of the cords so it makes me think its missing something? Will I be able to charge the battery above without needing anything?

7. DuraTrax Piranha AC/DC Digital Peak Charger NiCd/NiMH

Am I missing anything? What can you guys recommend? I plan to mess around on the road/streets drifting around.

And what kinda of driving time should i get with this setup?

Thanks,
Ryan

That looks like a good start. The charger will come with the plugs you need to charge the battery. I'd buy more than one battery, buy at least 2 if not 3. The more the marrier. The radio will have one set of crystals with it. I have that exact radio, not a bad unit, but you may want to shell out more for a FM system, good radio gear is always a good idea.

rather get two smaller batteries like 3700's.
FM does work alot better, if possible get a airtronics spectrum DX3 radio, its a one time investment.
if you use the tt01 r, try getting a carbon upper brace aswell.
and maby a Tamiya Super Stock TZ motor, reason being its rebuildable and tunable, so drifting and racing becomes better, faster and easier.

well i made some changes..
New radio:
2PL FM R153F 1 S3003 75 79
https://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-b...&I=LXNHS279&P=0

Different brand battery:
SMC IB4200 6-Cell 4200mAh NiMH Stick Pack
seems to be a better brand from readings, plus there cheaper by 5$

and a better charger
DuraTrax IntelliPeak AC/DC Pulse Charger

I think you should get a lower Mah pack, so that you don't over heat the motor. Maybe GP3300's.

Defonetly dont go lI-Po. Stick with Nimh's. If be better to get 2 batteries then 1. So yo can alternate, while 1 is runnin the other is charging. Youll get much more play time. Jsut try to stick with nimhs over 3000 MAh. Every thing else in that looks good id persoanlly reccomend the Super Brain 960 charger over the one youve selected, but the pirahna charger will work OK.

You Initial Out lay is good
the 2PL will do fine..

3. Novak XRS Reversible Sport ESC
4. Tamiya TZ Motor
5.Futaba 2PL Controller with reciever and Servo's

6. Paint for the shell
7. HPI Stage D Rims to be Poly piped
8. 3900mah Peak Racing 7.2Volt 6 Cell Nimh (2)
9. Triton Charger http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXMAH9&P=ML
