Well money or not ask the Q's on this forum or not but there is plenty of reading here
plenty of dreaming and go getters here.
The double T-01 is a good starter + rcuniverse is a great forum.
Cheer's CrocEnd.
PS... I just started drift as well Learnt from here......

I would have to Recommend a HPI Sprint 2 Stage D..
Its more Adjustable then a TT-01 and being a Belt Drive is alot smoother to drift with..
The stage D is a Good Drifter Package and doesnt need any Hop ups to get sliding...
As long as you have a relatively debris free area to drift on, you cant do wrong

With your budget, I wouldn't go with the tt01. Nothing wrong with it, but it's recommended so much cuz it's one of the cheapest cars to drift with. Like others said, there are better out there for your budget.
Don't get caught up in the shaft vs belt driven debate. You won't notice the difference right now anyway (I've been doing for a couple of years and see little difference).
The only thing you're going to need is a 4wd elect car and some ABS or "drift tires". If you search this forum, there's plenty of other posts about it as it's too much info for me to retype.

i would go with the tt-01 for a starter car, built to last, plenty of hopups and if you dont enjoy drifting just use it for carpark bashing.
if you can afford to get the tt-01d get that save money on upgrades in the long run[sm=thumbup.gif]
