RE: Cheapest driftable rc car
The HBX car will be more difficult to find parts for, and why not just buy a Tamiya?
There are a few options here:
TT01 -upgrade with ball bearings or get the D or R version
HPI E10 - the kit version(assembled) is %80, then buy some used electronics.
Also, I have a TT-01D used once without a shell, radio, or receiver for $100, and a TC3 for $140.
The TT01_D I have has only been driven once, and comes with everything you need to get going, minus a radio, receiver, and shell.
Or you can save a little, and buy the Cyclone S or Sprint 2 for under $200.

If you want cheap, my HBX Skyline has been fine with me. Even with upgraded bearings and shocks I'm still under $100.

RE: Cheapest driftable rc car
Exactly.. The HBX Uses 99.99% TL-01 upgrades so parts are still plentiful.. and while it hasn't got a Brand name on it, It Still Slides brilliantly..
You can choose to pay $100 for a 5 Year Old Tamiya TL-01 or choose to buy a brand new HBX lancer... its essentially the same thing...
The HBX Lancer/Skyline comes with an ESC thats rated down 19T, an 1800mah Nicd Battery with Wall Charger and apart from having weird Decalling is pretty snazy to
look at.. And is compatable with All Tamiya and HPI Shells (as long as you put the correct body holes on the shell)
Choice is yours but without a doubt they are one of the cheapest and reliable Beginner Drift cars... (Note: Must put Drift Tyres on the HBX as the stock ones are grippy radials)
