What do you think?... HPI Sport 2.
Well...
As I know I'm not going to finish my nitro RS4 drift project...
I did what I had to do at first instance...
I bought a dirt cheap HPI RS4 Sport 2...
It already has graphite parts and Yokomo tires... And the most important, a sexy brand spanking new 350Z body shell...
Is it a good begginer drift car?... I know it's not THE drift car... But...
What other mods should I keep in mind in a near future?...
Oh, 1 stupid question... What Amp rate battery would you recommend me?...
Here are the pics, they are big, so click the links...

RE: What do you think?... HPI Sport 2.
Its a Good Drift chassis...
Shells looks wicked
As for Mah, I would look a 7.2V 6 Cell rated at anything over 3000mah..
You may want to look at getting some ABS Tyres onto it (Home Made Polypipe)
Looks like it has a Silvercan motor which might be getting a bit old... Look for a Tamiya Sports tuned as an upgrade..
I see it has a Tamiya TEU 101BK ESC and the highest rating they have on them is for a Tamiya sports tuned motor..

Tamiya Rate the TEU-101BK ESC suitable down to that motor.. which is the Tamiya Sports tuned...
Others may tell you " I have run a 19T motor on that ESC" and that may be the case, but I am not going to recommend a Motor outside the Manufacturers specifications as the last thing I want is for you to run a motor that kills your ESC...

I got a rs4 pro2 electric and as far as I know its the same as the sport2. Mine drifts awesome. The driveline is soooooo smooth. I'm drifting with open diffs and it rocks and is super easy to control. I can't even drift with open diffs on my ta-04. I think the rs4 is a little better than my ta-04 IMO.

Thanks Noobdrifter...
Excuse for my ignorance...
What does it mean 'open diffs'?...
Magnat,
I'll try to get a motor locally... If I can...
Was watching at Ebay, lots of sellers selling that motor for little bucks... But, Are chinese sellers seriuos?, Are they products fake copies?...
I downloaded the instruction manual from HPI site, and I found the chassis in my car is not the OEM chassis... Can someone identify wich brand is it? (Check last link to pic)
Once again, thanks everybody!...
EDIT
Forgot to mention...
I was transplating MIP CVD from my nitro RS4 to this car, Did I make it right?...

Open Diffs means not Locked or altered..
I have not heard of any Knock off motors as yet... but thats not to say there not out there...
As for your CVD, I am not sure as mine is still Stock so I have not experimented with different CVD's..

magnat, do you know of a website that has a list of interchangeable hpi parts. There are not a lot of sport 2/pro 2 parts out there but the sport3/pro3 and 4 parts are everywhere and all the cars seem very simular. Thanks.

Unfortunately there is only one real way to get a list on interchangeable parts...
Thats to google them unfortunately..
Do you have an Owners manual for your Pro 2 ?
You could use the parts list off that and see if they match other HPI chassis parts ?

RE: What do you think?... HPI Sport 2.
Your right I think cross matching part numbers is the only option. I thought maybe there were some hpi fanatics that had already published their finding on this subject. I do have the owners manual so I'll have to publish them I guess. Off topic but has everyone seen the ta-05 drift conversion kit. That thing is sweet!!! Off topic again, what type of roller should I use as a forward lower belt tensioner? I want to push my battery as far forward as possible and put my servo in the rear with a push pull rod. I have a spare tensioner I used to get the belt over my battery so It wouldn't touch the battery but I think a nice polished dished one would be ideal. But what I'm doing it putting a tensioner on the taught side of the belt. Has anyone ever done this before? The ta-05 drift conversion shifted weight forward by putting the motor behind the steering and putting the batery in the middle. I don't want to move my motor I just want to mover the battery as forward as possible. Thanks
