Default What to buy/ mod(tamiya tt-01)

Hi I just bought a tamiya xb pro built tt-01 and wanted to know what tips you guys have for me to start drifting? Right now I just put electric tape on my car but dont know what else I need to buy or mod. This car is bran new and at the start I didnt know what car so chose for drifting, I had to pick from the tt 01, the sprint 2 or the e 10 and didnt know what to chose. Did I make the right decision going with the tamiya tt-01?

Yes you made a Wise choice.. TT-01s rock..

Now you need to be a little clearer on what XB Pro you got ..
Cause then we can figure out if you need an Alloy propshaft or Ball bearing kit...

you made a good choice, all you need now is to lock your rear diff's. or up grade to a aluninum one way diff and universal swing bars.

Thank you for your help. But how can you tell when your diffs are locked? Cause the way I lock them is that I used fuel tube.

you can tell when the diff is locked because both wheels spin one direction, instead of one forward, and one backwards

Whats the difference between these two types of bearings? And is buying stuff online cheaper than buying them in the store?

I just bought the tt01d and like it a lot. However I feel its not fast enough so i want to upgrade the motor. I'm new to electric RC stuff so i would appreciate it if you guys could recomend a good motor and speed control along with anything else I'll need to make it work and last in my car. I will also be upgrading to the alloy shaft.
I also want to know if anybody is making the tt01 RWD and if so how hard is it.

Okay I did what most of you guys said. my diffs are locked, I upgraded to ball bearings, and I have abs tires. But one thing thats hard for me to do now is hard to control it while drifting? Does anyone have any tips on how to? And what else should I mod/buy?

HI well my dad and I built the center shaft and a center brance. I replaced the ball bearings and I have abs tyres. But now I dont know what else to upgrade? Should I start buying all the alumim parts? Is there any metal/carbon fiber chassis for the tt 01? What should I do now?

Your best thing to do now is learn how to drift...

It takes alot of practice..

You need to start to get a feel for your car...
Just tell us what Motor and what tyres and where your drifting.

Not a thing...

Find the nearest Smooth open debris free area and start sliding...

RC Drifting comes naturally to some, Others it takes a little work and a few never get the hang of it...

Best advice I can give you is.... Start driving...

Get a feel for how your car takes corners.. learn how to apply opposite lock..

Best advice for a Rookie slider is not to be too heavy handed with the throttle...

Start out nice and easy...

Grab two soft drink bottles..(plastic not glass and place a little bit of sand or gravel or water{making sure the lid is on dead tight} in the bottom to provide some ballast) Place them roughly 4 car lengths apart... Now practice Driving around the Two coke bottles in a figure 8 Slow and easy..

When you are confident in driving around the bottles without hitting them, Start to get a little more adventurous... maintain a Nice and slow speed, then when making the turn.. Blip the throttle to make the Tyres Spin... You will start to see the tail comming out... at first it might spin.. so be prepared to apply opposite lock and let go of the throttle..

When learning how to drift, it is important to learn car control and the only way to do that is to not be heavy with the controls.. Over correcting and over throttling will cause you to spin... So practice until you are confident about your car.. Then and only then should we look at getting some decent motor upgrades...

When your car looks like its going to spin on you... Kill the throttle and apply opposite lock..

Well drifting is natural to me. xP
My car now has an alloy shaft(made), abs tyres, center brace(Made). But now I dont know just wat to do now( meaning wat to upgrade next)? But I was wondering is it better to lock both front and read diffs or just the rear? Whats the difference?
