Help decide on drifter vs on road car

I’m looking to buy an RC dedicated to be an on road car.

Can drifters be used in asphalt and concrete, or are they specifically made for indoor tracks?

Budget is $500 or less, any suggestions would be nice!

Drifters are setup completely opposite from on-road touring cars...

Typical Touring Setup: Front spool, stiff front end and soft rear end for smooth consistent steering response with high grip tires and weight bias 50/50

Typical Drifter Setup: Rear spool, soft front end and stiff rear end for quick snap over steer response with low grip tires that slide and weight bias to the front 70/30

Do you want to buy a kit or a RTR?

I think a touring car will suit me better

RTR preferably, I’m lazy lol

These Team Energy cars are pretty decent RTR's, I would check these out:

If you are leaning toward a kit, then I would consider selecting something from AMain which offers free shipping and discount codes. They have a wide range of quality to choose from, typically you will get what you pay for.

Decent entry level with limited tuning options would be the following:

Schumacher Mi1v2

Yokomo SD9 Sport

If you want all the bells and whistles, then a good middle of the road kit is this:

XRAY T4 2019

If you don't want to spare any expenses and get the best money can buy then look no further:

A800XAH EVO USA SPEC Car Kit
