So on Tower Hobbies website it says late October for availability. So it shouldn't be too long.

Another question, do you think it would be foolish to buy a Tacon motor and Hobbywing ESC from Hobbypartz? I not looking to race just bash with some power and long run times.

http://www.hobbypartz.com/ezrun-60a-...-1-10-car.html
http://www.hobbypartz.com/96m25-car-3650-3200.html

With this option I can also pick what Kv motor I want. Ranging from 2230-5900 Kv.

Do you think this option would be a disappointment?

Whether or not the Hobbywing stuff is going to be a disappointment is entirely based on your expectations.

Owning both a 60a HW ESC and two Castle ESCs, if you expect the HW ESC to be as good and offer smooth drivability like the Castle speed controls, yes, you will be disappointed.

If you want something that can make your car move under its own power and aren't concerned about drivability, go for it.

I used to not be a ''fan'' of motor fans either but they really helped me. Motor temps in my Slash 4x4 fell by 40 degrees with a fan.
Realistically, mathematically, theoretically, and practically-speaking impossible. Ain't gonna happen.
180 degree without fan, 140 with the fan. My temp gun doesn't lie.

I didn't say anything about the temp gun.

Do some testing on your own to try to prove me wrong. Until then stop posting opinions compared to my facts.

I have, and instead of posting mythical figures I prefer to live with reality-based ones.

I stand by my personally measured numbers. No more arguing with RobbieP.

In other news the block feature is pretty convenient...

You can stand by them all you want, but facts are facts. It ain't gonna happen, and I'll call someone's bluff when I see BS that'll confuse the unknowing.. If you don't want to get called out for exaggerating, simple, don't exaggerate.

Robbie, in case you're unaware, when he measures the temperature of the can, there is no doubt there was a 40 degree drop at the can.

The only problem is, the motor is still MAKING the heat on the INSIDE where temps aren't measured.

I come here to relax and talk about my "easy going" hobby... If people wish to not use a fan then so be it...

TBJ, I appreciate when someone else has a differing opinion to my own (especially with facts to back it up). I know you don't necessarily agree with me either but you've used some "tact" rather than just "attack". You're ok in my book.

Anyhow, I do have a motor with some cooling holes (and exposed windings), its a "hot" one, 6.5t Venom aka XERun. I could put it through the paces and zap the coils with the temp gun with and without a fan to do some testing.

hhhmmm interesting.
i'll ad some fuel to the fire.
if i temp my motor (castle 4600)and it says say 170? but it's really 210 inside (from what i read here 40degree difference) i'm running too hot right?.
so i should have it run around 140 (or 180 inside) to stay safe (castle says to run under 200).
so whats the point in temping the motor if you can't get a true reading?.

i'll keep temping my motor and running it at 170 (which i've run for over 1yr every weekend) NO MATTER what ANYONE says.

The Flux is geared too tall stock. Drop two teeth on the pinion.

also if your using one of those cheap little piece of junk temp guns you wasted your money.
i only use a raytec temp gun to get correct readings.
the little cheap ones are off by as much as 60 degree's. i've seen it on almost every single one.

Perhaps, but there's no way he can believe such foolishness - or expect anyone else to either.
10-15 degrees, maybe. 40? He's got a better chance of us believing him an astronaut and writing his posts from the international space station.

The problem is that you're suggesting that what you say are "the facts," when some of us here have been doing this RC thing quite a bit longer and know better.

im pretty sure, i think it was just the motor that 3s was t much for because you can run 3s on the regular sidewinder so i couldnt see why they would downgrade it to 2s only

About the 3s and the SW sct.
Do you remember when people started asking about the regular SW with the 5700 motor and 3s lipo? They had with glitching issues.
Castle advised them to use a fan and an external BEC.I think the same will happen now.(at least the fan and the BEC solved their problems)
I really want a vid of the new SW.......One running and a review....

Search for "sidewinder 5700 3s" on Google.I think that there is a thread (maybe in another forum) about this.

Off-topic:TBJ,I received my peltier modules.I will make the cooler and I will post results in the thread I made.(I will keep an eye on the shaft temps too,so there won't be a problem)(Sub to my thread to be notified)
