Default VXL motor wires

has anyone had the issue with the wire casing/rubber coatinggoing to the motor peeling back a little? mine have recently started doing it and im guessing sinceits an electrical wire, current is going thru it and water would short it out or ruin it. i accidentall ran it thru a puddle today and i always check the car after every run for issues, and i saw this.

I haven't had any issue like that. Just coat it with some liquid electrical tape.
