duratrax ice using external balancer ?
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXHDJ1&P=FR
Thinking about getting this lipo charger ( DuraTrax IntelliPeak ICE DC Competition Charger)
It's DC , I have a ac to dc power supply not a problem
Seem's to have good amps and a wide variteity of battery options
Has Lcd and readout
I'm worried because it doesn't have a built in balancer and I don't understand how to use a external balnacer with this charger
Could someone please explain this for me .
Thanks in advance

RE: duratrax ice using external balancer ?
Sure. I use 2 x ICE Chargers to charge my lipos and they work VERY well. So, lipos have a standard battery output plug (i.e. Deans or Traxxas connector) with a 12-18AWG wire to pass a lot of current to the ESC. Lipos also have another plug, a balance plug. Each cell of the pack is connected to the balance plug (18GA wire or so with a JST connector). When you charge with an ICE, you simply plug an external balancer into the balance plug and charge as normal with the ICE. The external balancer balances the cells as they charge.
This setup works fine and keeps my lipos balanced.
I use one of two external balancers-
The Astroflight blinky-

Or the Common Sense Balance Pro. I prefer this one because it gives you a voltage read out.

Sure, get an Astroflight Blinky. Make sure that whatever battery you use, has the correct balance plug. If you have questions about that, ask your Local Hobby Shop to explain(there are two types of pin spacing, 1 and 1.5 mm) All you have to do, is plug the blinky into the balance plug while you are charging. It will do the rest. You can even balance when not charging; at the end of a day, or any time the battery will sit for any length of time.

Thanks I belive I understand now.
Do I need a balancer for each cell of the battery or does one work on all of them.

The guys are right though, different lipo manufacturers use different balance connectors. It isn't a big deal, there are really only two types. The most common is .100" in pin spacing and .025" pins.
